Broll proposed entering the Emerald Dream, but Valorn immediately rejected the idea.
Valorn shook his head. "Taerar is an adult green dragon, a guardian of the Green Dragon Queen Ysera. His corruption has given him greater power, but he is still within the bounds of an ordinary dragon. He would certainly be wary of a newly advanced Archdruid. You would have a hard time luring him out, Broll. Let me go instead. You two make preparations outside."
Broll considered it, then nodded and handed the Scythe of Elune to Valorn. "Take this with you. Don't use it, but at least you can defend yourself."
Valorn smiled and shook his head. "It's a little embarrassing, but I have to admit that I've become afraid of the Scythe of Elune. I may not be able to touch it again until I become an Archdruid. Don't worry. I have a wolf form now. Even Taerar won't find it easy to kill me. Rest assured."
After watching Valorn enter the passage, Shawn and Broll began their preparations.
Although the Emerald Dream had long been tainted by the Emerald Nightmare, the nightmare had only begun spreading on a large scale in recent years. Moreover, the Legendary Archdruid Malfurion had entered the Emerald Dream several years earlier to investigate.
Though interference from Xavius, the Lord of the Nightmare, had left Malfurion lost in the Emerald Dream, he and the other druids had still made indelible contributions to containing the Emerald Nightmare.
It was only three months earlier that the Nightmare Four Green Dragons had begun appearing in the various passages. Thanks to the influence of the Elven Great Tree, the Emerald Nightmare could not yet spread beyond the passages. Dawn Forest remained uncorrupted, a peaceful land.
Druids certainly struggled to surpass green dragons in nature magic.
