Anachronos was a legendary bronze dragon.
During the War of the Shifting Sands a thousand years ago, Anachronos had served as supreme commander, leading the Bronze Dragonflight, Red Dragonflight, Blue Dragonflight, and Green Dragonflight alongside the Night Elf forces against the Qiraji.
Once they realized they could neither wipe out the Qiraji nor even defeat them, Anachronos and the Night Elf druids had worked together to weave an enormous magic barrier.
But the many Night Elf troops and members of the Dragonflights who had held back the Qiraji, buying Anachronos and the others enough time to prepare their spell, had all perished.
Even three legendary dragons had been trapped within the Ahn'Qiraj Empire, never to emerge again.
Shiroma, the Priestess of the Moon, had hurried to seize that hard-won moment, focusing all her energy on invoking Elune's blessing. Beneath the yellow sands, stone and plant roots had begun to fuse, forming an impenetrable wall. Even the winged soldier wasps could not fly over it, for an invisible force field above it blocked every path living creatures could take.
That was the Scarab Wall.
Using Dragonkind magic, beetle carapaces, and the bodies of Dragonkind, Anachronos had created the Scarab Gong and the Scepter of the Shifting Sands.
If the day came when they needed to reopen the Scarab Wall and face the sealed Qiraji once more, they would only need to strike the Scarab Gong with the Scepter of the Shifting Sands, and the wall would collapse on its own.
