Once the home of the demigod Cenarius, this land was bathed in eternal moonlight. After the destruction of the Well of Eternity, the Night Elves received Elune's blessing and built a home for druids here. Stormrage Barrow Dens was a resting place for druids, where they lay in deep slumber, their spirits connected to the Emerald Dream.

The Legendary Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage and many other druids had entered slumber in the Emerald Dream to heal this wounded world. Their souls had entered the Emerald Dream, but their bodies remained in this world, deep within Stormrage Barrow Dens.

Stormrage Barrow Dens was sacred ground for druids, and no outsiders were permitted to enter. Some druids had remained awake. Some stayed in Nighthaven, while others remained in Stormrage Barrow Dens, guarding the bodies of the sleepers.

Broll Bearmantle had returned here half a month earlier.

He had first visited Darnassus to report the events concerning Duskwood and the Scythe of Elune to Lady Tyrande and Archdruid Fandral Staghelm. Lady Tyrande had expressed approval of Broll and Shawn's actions, but Archdruid Fandral Staghelm had criticized Broll. He believed an artifact as precious and consequential as the Scythe of Elune should not have been entrusted to a weak Half-Elf of unknown origins. It should have been returned to Darnassus and placed in suitable hands.

Broll knew that those "suitable hands" most likely meant Fandral Staghelm's own.

Still, Broll harbored no resentment. After Malfurion Stormrage had entered slumber, Fandral Staghelm had become the Archdruid with the greatest prestige, the deepest understanding of the druidic path, and the greatest strength. It was only natural that he had become the leader of the Cenarion Circle, and equally natural that he should wield the Scythe of Elune.

Provided Lady Tyrande agreed.

Lady Tyrande had said nothing.
