In this world, the races most closely associated with crystals were probably the Draenei and the High Elves.
The former regarded Draenei crystals as sacred objects and excelled at making beautiful crystals with all sorts of functions, while the latter specialized in enchanting and could create unusual things such as mana crystals and void crystals.
By that reckoning, Shawn would have to visit the Draenei's Azuremyst Isle and neighboring Bloodmyst Isle.
Silvermoon City, home to the Blood Elves, was out of the question for now. Shawn was on the Alliance's side, after all, while the Blood Elves currently belonged to the Horde. Relations between the two were poor. If Shawn went there, he would be lucky not to start a war, let alone acquire all sorts of crystals.
The Shen'dralar Elf Mages in Dire Maul, however, were worth considering. They were skilled at making crystals too. After all, they had built Dire Maul's five Void Energy Spires back in the day.
Oh, right-there was another place that produced plenty of crystals: Ahn'Qiraj.
Ahn'Qiraj's Qiraji resonating crystals were also marvelous products of magical technology.
That covered his personal strength.
As for building his forces, Shawn decided to find ways to win over the Draenei and Pandaren, bring the Worgen of Gilneas under his command, and then see what other weaker races in this world were worth supporting.
