There were rewards for clearing it? This was starting to feel more and more like a game, wasn't it?

But that was a good thing!

Although the rating was only C, perhaps there were B and A above it, or even S?

Shawn was overjoyed and hurriedly chose to claim the clear reward.

"Clear Reward 1: 2 free attribute points."

Attributes were also one of the essential elements of a game.

In the upper-right corner of the control panel was Shawn's attribute screen.

Name: Shawn Feathermoon (This was no ordinary surname. It had once produced legendary figures remembered by history, though he himself had yet to be recorded in its annals.)

Race: Half-Human, Half-Elf (A medium-sized intelligent race with half human blood and half Elf blood. Commonly known as a "Half-Elf.")

Attributes: Strength 5, Agility 7, Stamina 8, Intelligence 12, Spirit 18 (Rating: Exceptionally high Spirit.)

Main Class: None.

Secondary Class: None.

Skills: Basic Common, Basic Elven, Basic Cooking, Basic Farming.

Equipment: Kobold Shaman Wizard Staff (White Quality, Common Equipment), Dalaran Apprentice Robe (White Quality, Common Equipment), Fine Iron Dagger (White Quality, Common Equipment).

A normal adult human had roughly 10 points in each of the five basic attributes. As an underage Half-Elf, Shawn was slightly lacking in Strength, Agility, and Stamina, but his Intelligence was not low, while his Spirit was exceptionally high. This was probably a mutation caused by the fusion of a transmigrator's soul.

Free attribute points could be added to any basic attribute at will.

After thinking for a moment, Shawn added them to Stamina.

His constitution was somewhat weak, and Stamina represented endurance, immunity, and recovery. It was extremely important.

Even a Mage needed a sufficiently strong constitution. No matter how powerful a frail Mage's mana was, he could easily be killed in a sneak attack by some little assassin.

"Ding!"

"Congratulations, Commander. The total of your five basic attributes has risen to 50 points, meeting the advancement standard and triggering a class change quest. Please choose a main class."

Below was a long series of class descriptions, twelve in total.

Druid, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warrior, Paladin, Death Knight, Hunter, Warlock, Shaman, Monk, Demon Hunter.

Twelve classes, twelve choices.

"So I have to make a choice, then complete the corresponding class change quest before I can change classes? Before I can become a class user?"

Shawn grumbled inwardly, then folded his arms, closed his eyes, and began to think.

Holy Light and shadow, arcane and evil, nature and Undead.

These six energies formed the foundation of this world. Then there were the four great elements that filled it: earth, fire, water, and wind, as well as the fifth element: soul.

The twelve classes all fell within them.

Druid, the path of nature.

This was a class that revered nature. Usually, only Night Elves, Tauren, and Trolls could come into contact with it. Druids could wield nature magic and Arcane Magic, and could also transform into beasts, gaining their feral instincts. It was a highly versatile class and a very good choice.

Mages revered knowledge and pursued truth. They mastered Arcane Magic and divided it into seven branches. It was said that humanity's analysis and application of magic had surpassed that of the Elves, overtaking them from behind.

Priests believed in the Holy Light, but they did not hate shadow either. They sought balance between the Holy Light and shadow, or diverged toward either extreme, giving rise to the three branches of Holy Priests, Shadow Priests, and Discipline Priests. The places Priests belonged most were churches and monasteries.

Rogues believed in shadow and often launched surprise attacks from the darkness, initiating vicious close-quarters combat. There were also unusual Rogues skilled at frontal combat, though they seemed few in number. In prolonged battles, they used carefully chosen chains of combinations to attack and weaken their enemies, preparing for a lethal blow. Rogues often existed as bandits and assassins.

Warriors were the most common class, the vanguard and shields of the battlefield. They were the class most likely to be injured and die, yet many famous legendary figures had emerged from their ranks, such as King Varian. A Warrior's power came from himself, his body, and his soul.

Paladins believed in the Holy Light, and only the Holy Light, wielding it as a weapon in battle. Paladins were the most devout Warriors and also exceptionally formidable elite fighters. They were not merely zealots; they were guardians of justice, protecting those bathed in the Holy Light's radiance. Paladins gave off light, and companions standing beside them could receive their protection.

Death Knights, on the other hand, were an unusual class. As the name suggested, only death could make one a Death Knight. This was a class reborn from the dead, immensely powerful and filled with the coldness and bloodiness of death.

Hunters were initially unrelated to war. They were merely farmers forced by necessity to take up bows, arrows, and daggers to hunt beasts for a living. They used bows and firearms and excelled at ranged attacks. Some classified Elf Rangers, Dwarf Musketeers, and beast tamers as Hunters. Though inaccurate, they did share certain common traits.

Warlocks were a class that sold their souls to demons, using souls and life as the price to gain demonic power. This class was more evil than Death Knights, and also extremely powerful. Warlocks controlled evil energy and shadow magic, studying a wide variety of arts. Moreover, most Warlocks had changed over from Shamans or Mages, and also possessed magic and knowledge from those fields.

Shamans originated from the worship of ancient ancestors and elements. By communicating with ancestral souls and the elements of nature, they gained great power. Every Shaman priest was a wise figure within their tribe.

Monks were a class exclusive to the Pandaren. They used their unique "chi" to temper their bodies and cultivate their souls. It was quite interesting.

Demon Hunters willingly accepted the forbidden power of the Burning Legion, wielding evil and chaotic magic. They mastered transformation abilities and Spectral Sight, relying on frightening agility to hunt and resist the most dangerous opponents. Their sole purpose was to resist the Burning Legion and hunt demons.

Shawn did not need to think much to eliminate more than half of the twelve classes.

Priests and Paladins believed in the Holy Light and upheld its precepts. Shawn had no desire to choose either. Strict rules and commandments were not his way.

Whether focused on assassination, subtlety, or combat, Rogues needed agile hands, sharp perception, and keen eyes. Rogues controlled the fates of others from the shadows. Shawn would not choose one.

Warriors charged at the very front of the battlefield, protecting the other class users behind them. They symbolized courage and valor, pursuing strength and glory. However, Shawn preferred casting spells to charging forward.

Death Knights and Warlocks were classes that humans and Elves turned pale at the mention of. As a Half-Elf, Shawn naturally would not choose them. This was a matter of faction. Shawn had no intention of joining the camp of evil magic; ultimately, he belonged to the orderly camp.

Shamans worshiped ancestors and elements. But neither humans nor Elves could possibly believe in Shamanism, and Shawn would not choose it either. One could not cook without rice; how could someone who did not believe in such things become a Shaman?

Although Demon Hunters were extremely cool, if Shawn chose to become one, he could forget about showing himself before the people of the outside world. Otherwise, what awaited him would be pursuit and death.

That left only four choices.
