Shawn could only continue, "Here's the thing. The Gor'dok Ogres have a very interesting custom. They only follow the strongest, whether that person is an ogre or not... Anyone who defeats the current King Gordok becomes the new King Gordok... If we can defeat King Gordok head-on, we'll have the strength of the entire Gor'dok clan at our disposal! Wouldn't that make dealing with the East and West Wings much easier?"

The Gor'dok Ogres were the locals, while Rehgar Earthfury and his gladiator team were merely passing through. Even a powerful outsider could not easily overpower the local boss, and against the mighty Gor'dok clan, Rehgar hardly qualified as powerful.
