Background

Lilith initially held authority second only to Father within the Church of Science. Father summoned her to the Church’s island headquarters after sensing the God of Science’s aura in the East. Though stunned by his account that Albert Einstein founded the organization after receiving enlightenment from the God of Science, Lilith trusted Father and accepted the mission to find the deity and pledge the Church’s loyalty 32.

She traveled to China with elite Church death warriors and resolved to search the entire country if necessary. While accompanying Yagyu Ichiro to confront the man who had crippled his disciple, Lilith saw Wu An and immediately recognized him as the Divine Lord. When the disciple denied Wu An’s identity, she ordered her guards to execute him for offending the God of Science 109 110.

Wu An’s inheritance token removed her remaining doubts about his identity. Lilith then explained that Church custom required the Saintess to serve the Holy Lord for life; although Wu An rejected constant attendance, she remained his companion, aide, and fiercely protective subordinate 112 115. She later alerted him to dissatisfaction within the Church after generations of secrecy and waiting, prompting Wu An to acknowledge responsibility for the organization 116.

Lilith accompanied Wu An to the Church’s hidden headquarters and explained its hierarchy, defenses, and the Holy Maiden’s lifelong obligations. Her private attempt to fulfill those obligations was interrupted, but she continued to defend Wu An’s secrecy when Church members questioned his place beside her 221 222 223.

At Wu An’s request, Lilith investigated his missing parents in Japan. Her infiltration of Nanyang Shrine uncovered evidence that an Eastern couple had entered a shrine and never left, but the operation cost dozens of Church death warriors. Pursued across the sea, she prepared to die rather than be captured or betray Wu An before he arrived and killed her attacker 524 525 526.

Afterward, Lilith reported the shrine’s blood-red statue, whose appearance she could no longer remember, and accompanied Wu An during his assault on Nanyang Shrine and Central Shrine. Her devotion is also fiercely protective. She considers insults toward Wu An intolerable, orders the death of a man who challenges his identity, and threatens the Yun Family after Yun Muyue belittles him 110 113 115. At the same time, she is compassionate toward Church personnel: she agrees to aid Yagyu Ichiro’s injured disciple, worries over the death warrior wounded while protecting her, and intends to care for the families of those who died during her Japanese mission 109 527.
