Jessica and Shen Fei walked side by side out of the restaurant. Jessica said coldly, "Why don't I sense even a shred of concern from you about your brother's situation?"
"Didn't you say their deal was at night? It's only afternoon now!"
Shen Fei looked at the insincere Jessica. She had clearly enjoyed the meal, so why was she urging him on the moment they came outside?
The two hurried into a car and headed to the Clinton District.
But the strangest thing was that, just as they were about to enter Clinton Intersection, the driver said he had to drop them off because drivers from outside Clinton had to pay a fee to enter.
Naturally, they refused.
After Shen Fei and Jessica got out, they walked into the Clinton District. Shen Fei looked around with great interest. This was practically the beginner village; most people started out here.
There were plenty of famous figures here: Daredevil, Punisher, and even Hell Detective frequented the area.
There were even villains like The Hand and Kingpin.
It could be said that although Hell's Kitchen was small, it had everything one could possibly need.
The streets were filthy and rundown, and thugs with tattoos all over their faces and shoulders squatted openly by the roadside, daggers in hand.
When they saw Jessica, they whistled at her.
Several people by the street noticed Shen Fei and Jessica, exchanged glances, grinned, and followed them.
"They're following us."
"Isn't this your chance to show off?" Jessica raised an eyebrow. Over the past two days, she had figured out what Shen Fei wanted. Besides having her investigate things for him, he was also trying to hit on her.
She had no intention of dancing around it and said so with a smile.
Shen Fei laughed. The people behind them quickly caught up. There were five of them in total. Three blocked their retreat, while two stood in front of them.
One of the two was bald and held a dagger. The other was empty-handed, though a pistol swung at his waist. The blond man smiled and said, "Yellow-skinned monkey, how about you lend us your girlfriend to play with?
"Otherwise, with that tiny little thing of yours, I'm afraid your girlfriend isn't satisfied!"
"Your mom told me she was very satisfied!"
"You!"
The blond man had barely opened his mouth before Shen Fei insulted his mother. "You want to die? This is Hell's Kitchen. Strength is what talks here."
Shen Fei swept his gaze around. They were robbing people in broad daylight, yet the people around them, whether thugs or pedestrians, seemed used to it. Some even stayed behind to watch the show.
"Hand over everything you've got, and leave your girlfriend behind for us to—"
Bang!
Without another word, Shen Fei punched the blond man. His nose burst like a dye shop, and he staggered back two steps, clutching it in agony. "Get him!"
But Shen Fei moved faster. He suddenly stepped back, slamming one man to the ground with his powerful back, then swept his right leg out with a bang, knocking another man down.
Two men were dealt with in an instant.
Jessica took two steps back. With her strength, she could kill these guys with two punches.
But since Shen Fei wanted to show off, she would give him the chance.
The other two finally reacted and charged at Shen Fei with daggers in hand. Shen Fei's left leg lashed out like an iron whip, kicking both daggers in front of their horrified eyes. Bang! Bang! The daggers fell to the ground.
He twisted at the waist and swept his right leg out, sending both men flying.
By then, the blond man had recovered. Just as he was about to draw the gun at his waist, a large hand landed over his own, pinning it against the pistol.
The blond man looked up and saw Shen Fei smiling at him. "So this is strength talking? I like it!"
Even Natasha could not break free from Shen Fei's grip, much less this guy.
As Shen Fei increased the force of his grip, the blond man's face twisted in growing pain. He growled, "I work for Boss Kingpin!"
Kingpin?
I've already offended Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. Why would I be afraid of Kingpin?
Shen Fei snatched the pistol from the blond man's waist and, before the man's horrified eyes, fired twice into his chest. Both bullets struck his heart.
The blond man collapsed with an unbelieving expression. The other four scrambled to flee, only to hear Shen Fei say, "Take one more step, and you can forget about keeping your lives!"
His words immediately froze them in place. They carefully turned around as Shen Fei smiled at Jessica. "I'll leave them to you. They were disrespectful just now."
"Get lost, all of you! Your skills aren't bad."
Jessica looked at Shen Fei and raised an eyebrow. His fighting had been clean and decisive, and he was even better than she was. Only her strength could compare to his. If they had equal strength, he would probably take her down immediately.
This guy was interesting.
"Can't be helped. If I want to find my brother, I have to keep making myself stronger!"
Shen Fei lied smoothly.
"Let's find a restaurant and sit for a while. We can talk." Shen Fei said with a smile.
"Fine. But you're paying."
"Of course."
Inside an ordinary little restaurant, Shen Fei and Jessica sat in a corner, discussing how to handle things that night. The location of the deal was a Large Warehouse.
It was Kingpin's territory.
If they entered carelessly, they could easily be discovered.
Jessica was not worried. She could get in with a single jump, but what about Shen Fei?
"I've undergone all kinds of training. Don't worry."
Shen Fei smiled. At that moment, the restaurant door was pushed open. Shen Fei looked over and froze for a moment. Was this really such a coincidence?
A man in a suit walked in. What drew the most attention were his sunglasses and the white cane in his hand. He made his way into the restaurant with practiced ease and took a seat.
Then he began ordering food.
Daredevil is here too?
Shen Fei quickly realized the key point. Kingpin was the one trading with Klaw's men tonight. As Kingpin's archenemy, it would be stranger if Daredevil did not show up.
Especially since Phoenix 1 had likely been pouring into Clinton in large numbers recently.
That had tipped off Daredevil, who saw himself as its protector, and made him decide to investigate what was going on.
"Matt?"
Jessica's gaze followed Shen Fei's, and she could not help calling out.
"You know him?"
Shen Fei was a little surprised, though it made sense. Jessica and Matt would later form the Defenders Alliance, so they must have known each other. He just had not expected Jessica to know Matt before she knew Luke.
"Yeah, he's a very interesting lawyer. And a superhuman."
As she said the last three words, Jessica lowered her voice. But Matt had already turned his head toward Jessica and Shen Fei.
"Jessica, what are you doing here?" Matt walked over and smiled as he hugged Jessica.
"I'm investigating something."
"Phoenix?"
"Yeah. You know about it too?"
"How could I not?" Matt "looked" at Shen Fei and frowned. Such a powerful magnetic field?
Jessica saw Matt looking toward Shen Fei. "He's my employer and my friend."
"Employer? Friend..."
Matt also knew about Jessica's past. Hearing the word "friend" from her, especially regarding a man, struck him as strange.
