A Self-Inflicted Wound, and Daredevil Comes Knocking

Matt was also glad that Jessica had stepped out of the shadows again.

"Hello, I'm Matt!"

"My name is Shen Fei. Just call me Shen!"

The two shook hands. Shen Fei did his best not to reveal anything unusual. Aside from being blind, this guy's other senses were terrifying, and he even had some vague sixth sense.

He could even use the information he received to construct a map of his surroundings.

Sometimes, he was even more capable than an ordinary person.

"Since we have the same goal, why don't we work together?"

Matt asked, looking at Jessica. He knew Jessica better.

"If my employer says it's okay, then it's okay."

"I'd naturally welcome the help!" Shen Fei said with a smile. Daredevil... you came right to my door.

He had originally only wanted to get one. Now, he could get both together.

That night, Daredevil appeared in his classic red suit. Shen Fei was still dressed casually, while Jessica had covered her face with black cloth.

"You're not covering your face?"

Matt asked. Shen Fei shook his head.

"Suit yourself."

Matt said, "Follow me!" With that, he turned into a phantom in the darkness, weaving constantly through all kinds of obstacles. He did not look like a blind man at all.

His cane was merely his weapon.

Shen Fei followed behind him, and Jessica kept up with ease as well. The three soon arrived across the street from a Large Warehouse. Two enormous white lights shone over its entrance.

Apart from the walls around it, there was also an electric fence above them.

"At this hour, they're probably making the deal. How do we get in?"

Shen Fei asked quietly.

"There's a blind spot over there. As long as you jump into it within three seconds, you won't be noticed. Can you do it?"

"Of course."

Jessica and Shen Fei followed Matt to another spot. Almost no light reached this area. Jessica suddenly leaped, soaring into the air and landing inside the wall. At the same time, Matt used both hands and feet to climb the wall.

The moment he turned back, he saw a figure pass him at an even faster speed and leap over the wall.

Shen Fei landed on the ground. No matter how absurd Daredevil's Super Senses were, his physical abilities ultimately limited him. He could not fully make use of the tremendous benefits his Super Senses gave him.

This would be better off in my hands.

Matt, who had just landed, naturally had no idea that Shen Fei had set his sights on him.

Matt led the way, and they soon reached the top of the warehouse, looking down at the two parties conducting a transaction below.

"Take them out!"

After saying that, Matt dropped straight into the warehouse. Jessica did the same. Shen Fei realized that these street heroes loved nothing more than charging in headfirst, with no thought given to planning ahead. Since that was the case, don't blame me.

Shen Fei jumped down as well.

As he fell, he brushed a button at his waist.

With a bang, he landed on the ground.

By the time Shen Fei hit the ground, Daredevil and Jessica had already dealt with the people below. They were all sprawled on the floor, groaning in pain.

Jessica opened the box between the two sides, and a violent explosion rang out the next instant.

Boom!

The liquid bomb rigged with a trigger inside exploded at once. The massive shockwave blasted Jessica away, while a piercing buzzing sound filled the entire warehouse.

"You're surrounded!"

A voice burst into laughter as Klaw appeared. Helicopters showed up above the warehouse, and armed men descended one after another, aiming their guns at Shen Fei and the other two.

Klaw looked somewhat surprised, then smiled. "You're... Logan's little brother? Good, good, good! I can capture both brothers at once!"

"Damn it, it's a trap!"

Jessica flew back after being blasted away and growled.

Matt's steps were unsteady. "That sonic wave..."

His extraordinarily powerful senses gave him immense convenience, but they also exposed his weakness. He could sense everything nearby, but an overly noisy environment combined with constantly shifting frequencies—

would wildly interfere with the environment he constructed in his mind.

If he could not construct his surroundings, he was nothing more than a cripple.

"We need to get out first!"

A hole had been blown through Jessica's clothes, vaguely exposing some skin, but there was no time to care about that now.

She grabbed Shen Fei with one hand and Matt with the other. At Klaw's command, waves of Metal Storm swept continuously toward the three of them.

Jessica suddenly leaped toward the main entrance. Boom!

Another massive explosion erupted at the entrance. Towering flames engulfed the three figures as a terrifying barrage of bullets rained down upon Jessica and Shen Fei.

Bloody blossoms kept blooming.

Shen Fei wrapped his arms around Matt and growled, "I won't die, Jessica. Use me as a shield!"

"I'm fine!" Jessica said, then could not help coughing up blood. The violent explosion earlier had shaken her internal organs.

Now, she was using her abilities, continuously putting pressure on her organs.

"I can't bear to see you get hurt! Don't worry, I won't die!"

Shen Fei said softly. In his dazed state, Matt could not help raising his head to look at Jessica and Shen Fei.

They were still flirting at a time like this?

"Hurry! Otherwise, we'll slow down our escape!"

More and more people were surrounding them. The moment Shen Fei pressed the button, his five-tier plan was immediately raised to the fifth tier.

Hearing that, Jessica could only place Shen Fei on her back as a human shield, carry Matt in a princess hold, and then soar into the air.

"Hold on tight!"

Jessica could not help turning back to say this while in the air. Just then, their lips happened to meet. Jessica was about to say something when she realized Shen Fei had already passed out.

Matt, in her arms, had passed out as well.

"You couldn't bear to see me get hurt?" Jessica murmured.

Shen Fei opened his eyes and saw Jessica asleep beside his bed, her head resting on its edge. Looks like last night's plan succeeded.

That whole incident had been a self-inflicted-wound scheme, meant to make Jessica trust him more.

As for directly taking Jessica out, that had been impossible. If it had been possible, he would have left Jessica behind last night. With her strength, speed, and ability to fly, as long as she was on guard, it would have been utterly impossible.

Matt had only joined them at the last minute. It had been a perfect opportunity to test the specialized weapon against Matt, the Variable Frequency Sonic Wave Device.

So far, its effects were remarkable. According to the shows and comics, loud noise was Daredevil's weakness.

Now Shen Fei had improved it further by adding variable-frequency sound waves, directly interfering with Matt's Super Senses.

That was why Matt had performed so poorly last night. Though he became formidable later on, right now he was merely a relatively powerful ordinary man.

As long as Shen Fei had intelligence and time, dealing with a Daredevil would be effortless.
