A Date, Lizard Doctor?

When Shen Fei arrived at Jessica's detective agency, he found her waiting prettily by the roadside. She looked exceptionally beautiful, even though she was a superhuman—the kind who could nearly punch someone to death with one blow.

Her figure was slender rather than bulky with muscles, and the long dress suited her perfectly.

Combined with her rather delicate features, she fit Eastern beauty standards quite well.

Unfortunately, women would slow down my research.

Shen Fei drove up beside Jessica. When she saw him, her face immediately blossomed into a smile, and she climbed into the passenger seat.

Shen Fei handed her the flowers and asked with a smile, "Where would you like to eat?"

"I know a really delicious place. How about we go there?"

"Whatever you like."

Shen Fei looked helplessly at the rice noodles before him. Weren't these just rice noodles?

The shop was run by two fellow countrymen. When they saw Shen Fei, they even said this meal would be on the house.

Jessica, meanwhile, was eating with great enthusiasm.

Shen Fei asked, "Is Matt all right?"

Seemingly afraid that Shen Fei might misunderstand something, Jessica hurriedly explained, "Matt? I didn't ask him. We aren't that close normally. We only worked together before."

"Mm. There's blood on your collar."

Jessica looked somewhat confused. Shen Fei glanced at it and said with a smile, "I was doing an experiment before coming here, dissecting rabbits. I accidentally hit a blood vessel, so some blood may have splashed on me."

"An experiment?"

"I graduated in bioengineering. Didn't I tell you?"

"Of course not. What exactly is that?"

"Researching all kinds of projects that contribute to human health..."

The two began chatting. One was willing to listen, and the other was willing to talk. Seeing the increasingly admiring look in Jessica's eyes, Shen Fei smiled and said, "If you have time, I can show you around my laboratory.

You can experience the charm of experimentation firsthand."

"Okay." Jessica nodded.

Just then, Shen Fei suddenly looked across the street. Under the dim streetlights, two figures were constantly colliding, smashing the shops opposite into ruins.

One red and one green, the two figures were locked in combat. Chunks of stone and wood flew everywhere as screams erupted, and people nearby began fleeing to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.

It also drew attention over here.

Jessica looked over, displeased that something had interrupted her date with Shen Fei.

"It's Spider-Man!"

Someone recognized the red figure. After all, Spider-Man was a great helper to the citizens—the sort who would appear whenever you shouted for help.

"A giant lizard..."

Jessica's gaze fell on the other massive figure. It was probably over two meters tall, its body enormous like a truck.

More importantly, it was covered in green scales. Its hands were as large as palm-leaf fans, complete with sharp claws.

Its head was that of a lizard.

The entire figure looked like an upright lizard.

The two figures crashed into each other again and again, rapidly approaching this side.

Connors had already turned into a lizard?

Shen Fei frowned. That meant Connors had already left Osborn, and his plan had fallen through. He remembered that Connors had become Lizard Doctor only after Osborn fired him.

Connors as Lizard Doctor and Connors as a human were two entirely different people.

The former had completely come to see himself as the leader of reptiles. He even wanted to turn all of New York into a reptilian kingdom.

He had ambition, ability, and brains.

Connors, now transformed into Lizard Doctor, had been affected by the Lizard Serum. Once he returned to human form, he would regret everything he had done.

"Looks like the plan needs a slight adjustment."

Shen Fei did not feel as though his plans had been disrupted. After all, plans often could not keep up with change. Once something changed, he could simply make a new plan.

Jessica had no intention of helping Spider-Man. Instead, she took Shen Fei's hand. "Let's go!"

"Sure."

Watching the two figures draw ever closer, Shen Fei nodded. He had not expected this outing to bring such a harvest. Still, Spider-Man really was busy. A few days ago, he had been fighting Green Goblin, and now he was fighting Lizard Doctor.

And in his daily life, he still had to help New York citizens, yet he learned remarkably fast.

If he were not talented enough, how could he devote so much time elsewhere and still perform so well academically? He had even earned the recognition of that arrogant Stark.

As they left, Jessica remained vigilant, afraid their battle might hurt Shen Fei.

Once they were far away, Shen Fei suddenly said, "My car is still parked there."

Jessica froze. "Then what do we do?"

That car looked quite expensive.

But judging by the destruction caused by the fight between that big one and the little one, the car would probably be scrapped.

"Insurance should cover it. If not, we'll make Spider-Man pay!"

Shen Fei smiled. "As long as you enjoyed your meal."

"Then how about we walk back?" Jessica said with a smile.

"Okay."

After taking Jessica home, Shen Fei did not stay. Jessica was merely one of his fish, as well as future experimental material. He did not currently like associating with his experimental materials.

After returning to the estate outside the city, Shen Fei went first to the laboratory where Wolverine was being held. After several days apart, Logan's aura had weakened considerably.

Even with the Self-Healing Factor, being drained like this would weaken anyone.

Seeing Shen Fei enter, Logan roused himself slightly and said coldly, "You're as good as dead! Once the Professor recovers, he'll definitely come looking for me!"

Logan could only hope that the Professor recovered his abilities soon. Once the Professor gathered the X-Men, he would discover that Logan was trapped here.

"Looks like you're in good spirits."

The assistants beside him were continuously sorting through the raw materials drawn from Logan. They would eventually be sent away to make medicine.

"Actually, if you can tell me where Colossus is, or where the other Mutants are, I might consider letting you go."

"Fuck off!"

Shen Fei smiled. "I only came to check on you this time. Seeing that nothing major has happened to you, that's not bad. After all, you're my cash cow."

He had not gotten any leads on the other Mutants from Logan, but he did not find it regrettable. That was perfectly normal.

But speaking of which, with Logan here, the plotline in Japan had come to a halt. He remembered that Hydra had a branch there.

One of Hydra's key figures, Madame Viper—Viper—was there.

Logan had connections with Hydra too...

That was something he could use. He had never forgotten Hydra. Those mad dogs were surely looking for him as well, especially Baron. After being revived, that man had become even more obsessed with ruling the world.

Combined with Captain America's performance, Baron probably believed that all perfect Super Soldiers were like Captain America.

"Better deal with Matt first."
