Miriallia paused at his words and asked with a hint of confusion on her face.
"Is something wrong?"
Dearka fell silent at her question, then looked at Miriallia and gave an embarrassed smile. Seeing his awkward appearance only made Miriallia more puzzled; she had no idea what Dearka was trying to do.
After silently meeting Dearka's gaze for a moment, Miriallia remembered that she still had things to do and spoke her farewell.
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going."
With that, Miriallia turned to leave.
Seeing Miriallia about to depart, Dearka snapped out of his hesitation and called out to her retreating figure.
"Once the war is over, can I invite you out sometime?"
Miriallia smiled softly at his words, then turned back with a teasing smile.
"Are you asking me out?"
The words "asking me out" reached Dearka's ears, and the tips of his ears instantly turned red. He awkwardly raised a hand to scratch his cheek, making up an excuse as he replied.
"I just wanted to thank you for saving me before."
"I see!" Miriallia saw through him but did not expose him. With a meaningful tone, she smiled and replied, "We'll see!"
Having said that, Miriallia gave Dearka a slight smile.
Her halted steps moved forward again, and she soon disappeared from Dearka's sight.
Dearka stared in the direction Miriallia had left for a long while, unable to come back to himself. At the same time, he murmured in confusion.
"Did she agree?"
