Inside the room, Felix strode over to his chair, dropped into it, and pressed the buttons on his communicator.
Once he entered the encrypted communications channel, the call went out to the Eternal.
After a brief silence, the call connected.
Andrew's face appeared on the screen.
Andrew smiled at Felix, then knowingly transferred the call to Lacus.
Lacus's face appeared on the communications screen.
At the sight of his beloved, a happy smile spread across Felix's face.
Lacus answered him with a radiant smile of her own.
"Lacus, how are things on your end?"
After gazing at each other for a long while, Felix asked after her with concern.
Lacus replied with a smile.
"Things are good here. How about you?"
"Things are good here, too."
Felix nodded, his voice gentle as he answered.
Then Felix changed the subject.
"How did your discussion with Speaker Zala go?"
"It went all right," Lacus replied lightly, but Felix caught the faint trace of worry on her face.
After giving it a little thought, Felix asked her a question.
"Did Speaker Zala make some unreasonable demands?"
Looking at Felix, Lacus nodded without hiding anything, then spoke.
"He did make some rather unreasonable demands!"
As she answered, Lacus explained the demands to Felix. After hearing them, Felix frowned and thought to himself.
Those demands are completely impossible to meet!
Pulling himself out of his thoughts, Felix asked her a question.
"What are you planning to do?"
Lacus thought for a moment before answering.
"I'm going to try to make it work first, but we can't abandon our original plan either."
As she spoke, Lacus took a deep breath, her voice growing a little more solemn as she continued.
"I'll have to rely on you a great deal for all this. Sorry for the trouble."
