"Chairman, the doors are open!"
The report from up ahead brought a pleased smile to Felix's face. He glanced at Simmons, then slipped his hands into his pockets and walked inside.
Before Simmons could react, members of the Marine Corps escorted her in under guard.
As Felix walked through Dawn Island's underground military base, he surveyed the facility and began issuing instructions.
"The whole base is in pretty good condition. We can renovate it and turn it into a garrison base for ZAFT troops stationed in the Orb Special Administrative Region!"
Hearing Felix's plans, Simmons gave a scornful smile.
"You really are shameless!"
At her mocking words, Felix turned to look at Simmons. Their eyes met, and he spoke calmly.
"All of Orb belongs to us in PLANT. How is it shameless to use our own property?"
As he spoke, Felix offered Simmons a reminder.
"Oh, and Ms. Simmons, you're already a PLANT citizen now. When you call me shameless, you're calling yourself shameless too."
Simmons gave Felix a level look but said nothing more. Seeing her fall silent, Felix smiled.
Half an hour later, Felix found the gleaming gold Dawn Gundam in one of the military base's hangars.
"Did you build this in secret?"
Studying the Dawn Gundam, Felix addressed the question to Simmons. She looked at the machine before her, whose main structure had only just been completed, and replied.
"Would you believe me if I said no?"
Felix shook his head at her retort, then turned away and strode toward the Dawn Gundam.
Standing before the Dawn Gundam, Felix reached out and ran his hand over its outer armor, taking in its gleaming golden finish.
He withdrew his hand and remarked.
"You really spared no expense. You actually used gold to make an MS's armor."
