Doug pulled out a chair and sat down, nodding toward Felix. Andrew walked over with a glass of water, placed it in front of Doug, and asked, "How are you feeling?"
"These Vanguard Fighter units of the Earth Alliance Forces are easier to deal with than the Moebius in space, but their numbers far exceed those of the Moebius the Earth Alliance Forces deployed in space. In the end, the sheer increase in quantity wiped out their disadvantage in combat."
Picking up the glass to take a sip, Doug offered his assessment.
Felix looked at Doug and smiled slightly. "It's normal for the number of Vanguard Fighter units to be higher than the Moebius. After all, before these Earth Alliance Forces nations officially stepped into space on a large scale, they were all operating on Earth. Naturally, they needed to manufacture more equipment like the Vanguard Fighter. Over time, it's only natural for such equipment to accumulate."
After finishing, Felix patted Doug on the shoulder and continued, "We can have a good rest for a while now. You should enjoy this period of peace!"
Peace probably won't last long. Doug looked at Felix, his inner thoughts clear.
Felix said nothing to this.
"Report!"
A voice calling for a report came from outside the room.
Looking toward the door, Felix spoke up. "Enter!"
The single word reached the doorway.
The soldier standing at the door walked into the room, stopped two steps away from Felix, and raised his hand in a salute. "Captain Griffith, Captain Waltfeld, Captain Doug, greetings!"
"What is it?" Doug looked at the soldier and asked.
The soldier nodded and immediately handed the documents in his hand to Felix. "Captain Griffith, this is the personnel loss report and the combat results report for this operation."
"Alright, I understand." Felix replied after taking the report.
The soldier saluted, then turned and left the room.
After he left, Felix opened the report and looked at the contents. Doug and Andrew looked at Felix and asked, "Felix, how are our losses this time?"
"Combat losses are a little over one-third, specifically ninety-three MS. As for the results, we destroyed sixty percent of the Earth Alliance Forces' aerial power, which is five hundred and eighty Vanguard Fighter units. As for the ground forces, including the vehicles they abandoned, we basically achieved one hundred percent destruction!"
While the two were asking, Felix explained all the current losses and results to them. Upon hearing of such losses, the two fell into a silent, heavy stillness.
After a long while, Andrew spoke up. "Across three battles, we have lost over two hundred MS here, and over two hundred excellent ZAFT Champion pilots are sleeping in this land."
"That is the nature of war!" Doug replied in a calm tone.
Felix, sitting in his chair, listened to the brutally realistic words from Doug. He lowered his eyes, saying nothing.
Meanwhile, at the Earth Alliance Forces frontline command post.
Hope looked at the battle damage and results, his fists clenched as he sat in his chair, his expression dark and terrifying.
This emotion was fleeting; a look of defeat instantly appeared on Hope's face, and his clenched fists loosened. He realized clearly that his military career was effectively over, and what awaited him next was a trial by the military tribunal at headquarters.
In the quiet waiting, the communication device in the room rang.
Hope was jolted from his quiet wait. Looking at the device, he reached out and connected the call.
"Hope! Hand over your duties to your replacement, then take a military aircraft to the headquarters in Alaska."
A voice devoid of emotion rang out from the communication.
Hope looked at the Commander-in-Chief on the screen and raised his hand in a salute. "I understand, Commander-in-Chief."
As soon as the words were spoken, the communication was cut off.
Watching the communication end, Hope lowered his raised hand and sank back into his chair.
After a moment of thought, Hope began drafting his debate script on the computer, hoping to secure a better outcome for himself through the proceedings.
I hope this works!
Muttering to himself, Hope continued his work.
Time slipped away, day turned to night, and in the blink of an eye, it was April 11th.
At Victoria Spaceport on this day, Felix, Andrew, and Doug gathered together.
"Operation Ouroboros has begun, and the Neutron Jammer has been deployed across a vast area of Earth."
Checking the time, Felix spoke to Andrew and Doug. Andrew and Doug nodded, checking the time as well.
Turning his head toward Felix, Andrew said.
"With the spread of the Neutron Jammer this time, the Earth Alliance Forces shouldn't continue to stubbornly hold onto Victoria Spaceport."
"Oh?"
Doug's curiosity was piqued, and he let out a puzzled sound. Felix looked at Doug and explained before Andrew could.
"Once the Neutron Jammer spreads, it will interfere with nuclear fission on Earth. With fission reactions disrupted and unable to proceed, the Earth Alliance and other nations will fall into an energy crisis.
Industrial production capacity will shrink instantly, and with that reduction, they will no longer have the resources to continue fighting to the death here. After all, the sheer number of casualties here would affect their deployments in other sectors."
Doug understood instantly, feeling a slight pang of annoyance at himself for not thinking it through more before asking.
Seeing the topic shift between Doug and Andrew, Felix spoke up.
"In the coming days, we need to closely monitor the movements of the Earth Alliance Forces to ensure we have real-time access to the latest intelligence.
This will allow us to adjust our deployments accordingly!"
"Understood!"
The two replied to Felix in unison.
The three of them remained there to continue their discussion.
In the afternoon, Felix, who was resting in his room, received a communication from the Ministry of Defense.
"Chairman, greetings!"
Looking at Patrick Zala's face, Felix raised his hand in a salute and offered his greeting. Patrick Zala nodded in response and looked at Felix.
"Felix, how is the situation at Victoria Spaceport currently?"
"Everything is normal. The Earth Alliance Forces have been relatively quiet lately and have not continued to launch attacks on the spaceport. The entire spaceport is firmly under our control!"
Looking at Patrick Zala, Felix reported the situation word for word with a serious expression. Patrick Zala nodded in satisfaction, gave an affirmative grunt, and continued.
"Once the spaceport stabilizes in a few days, hand over command to Waltfeld and Doug, and lead your troops back to PLANT."
"Yes, Chairman."
