Genya fought the Mountain Imp and Otsutsuki Sosuke to protect Nami and the Otsutsuki clan’s branch family. After promising to break the Caged Bird curse mark, he battled Sosuke across the moon, where their fight continued as Sosuke unleashed the Tenseigan’s gravitational power.

• Genya used his Truth-Seeking Orbs to damage the Mountain Imp and break its Stone Hammer during their fierce fight.
• Otsutsuki Sosuke emerged from seclusion and attempted to turn Nami into his puppet, but Genya teleported in and destroyed the light orb.
• Genya protected Nami with a Flying Thunder God-marked kunai, then killed an Otsutsuki who tried to seize her.

Genya visited the Hyuga clan to reassure Hiashi after removing the Caged Bird curse mark, then visited Fugaku and Mikoto to meet their newborn daughter, Uchiha Iori. He gathered Itachi, Sasuke, and Shisui at the Uchiha training ground to test their progress.

• Genya took Nami and Mei Terumi to the Hyuga clan, where Neji and the branch family thanked him for freeing them from the Caged Bird curse mark.

• Might Guy opened the Seventh Gate and defeated Kisame with Daytime Tiger, then collapsed from the technique's aftereffects.
• Orochimaru escaped while Jiraiya, Konan, and Might Guy questioned the dying Kisame, who revealed nothing before he died.
• Orochimaru returned to the Graveyard Mountains and told Obito that Kisame was dead and Konoha might find their base, but Obito refused to move.

At the Akatsuki’s hideout, Madara confronted Obito and demanded the Rinnegan and his resurrection, but Obito refused to hand them over before the decisive battle.
