The last book really was terrible. By the time it ended, it had only a thousand bookmarks, and I never got a single recommendation along the way.
You can imagine how bad the subscription numbers were. I got by on the attendance bonus and barely earned anything.
The attendance bonus only required 4,000 words a day, but I wasn't writing just to scrape by on the minimum. I didn't want people calling me a freeloader.
So I stuck to updating more than 6,000 words every day, all the way to the finale. I never missed a day.
Even after three months, when I could no longer get the attendance bonus, I kept up the daily 6,000-plus-word updates for another couple of months. In the end, I finished the book at 1.31 million words, without letting the ending fall apart.
I treated the last book as a chance to learn from my mistakes and gain experience. I've put all that experience into this book, and that's why it's doing better.
I'll give this book everything I've got. There's no helping it—I used to work in the internet industry, but at thirty-five I was "laid off." I couldn't find a similar job back in my hometown, I don't know how to do anything else, and my health has been ruined. Writing is all I can do full-time now.
So I'm going to show you how serious I am. I promise that for the first month after the book goes premium, I'll update 10,000 words a day. And if I'm lucky enough to earn a league leader's favor, I'll add another 10,000 words. I'll keep my word.
If the number of new daily subscriptions reaches a thousand after that first month, then daily 10,000-word updates will become the norm.
I don't know how
