Ch. 1No-Sweat System / Chapter 2: My Turn, Draw!
Summary
Plot Points and Events
Uchiha Chonhua, a young boy living in Konoha in the 27th year after its founding, discovers that he has a system with one condition: he must become Hokage before it fully activates. Chonhua immediately doubts the possibility, pointing out that he is both extremely young and an Uchiha—members of a clan distrusted by Konoha’s leadership and historically unlikely to be accepted as Hokage.
The system explains that, once activated, it can provide powerful Ninja World Character Cards through a gacha-like mechanism. It offers mission rewards in the form of “Primogems,” with higher-ranked missions granting more currency, while S-rank missions provide direct draws. Since Chonhua is currently only a “Ninja Apprentice,” the system allows him to borrow 10,000 Primogems for an initial draw.
The loan comes with severe consequences: if Chonhua fails to become Hokage and repay the debt, he will be transformed into a system worker. Compound interest will accumulate, and eventual failure will erase his consciousness, leaving only an automated system behind.
Initially, Chonhua considers abandoning the system and pursuing an ordinary career, joking that he might become a “Tempura Sage.” However, remembering the future massacre of the Uchiha clan, he decides that gaining power and influencing Konoha’s political structure may be necessary. He accepts the loan and makes his first draw.
The chapter ends with the appearance of a five-star character card: an Akatsuki-cloaked shinobi with a slashed Konoha forehead protector, black hair, tear troughs, and a three-tomoe Sharingan—strongly implying that the card depicts Itachi Uchiha.
Character Developments
- Uchiha Chonhua is cautious, sarcastic, and highly aware of the danger surrounding him. He initially rejects the system’s unrealistic demand but gradually becomes more pragmatic.
- His awareness of the future Uchiha massacre changes his priorities. Survival and preventing disaster become more important than avoiding risk.
- Chonhua demonstrates skepticism toward the system, carefully questioning its rules, loan terms, reward structure, and hidden benefits before committing.
- Despite his reluctance, he shows ambition and adaptability by deciding to use the system’s power to pursue the Hokage position.
Significant Themes
- Ambition versus survival: Becoming Hokage begins as an absurd requirement but becomes a possible means of protecting Chonhua and the Uchiha.
- Debt and coercion: The system’s loan turns power into a dangerous obligation, with failure threatening Chonhua’s existence.
- Political prejudice: Chonhua recognizes that the Uchiha’s history of conflict with the Senju and Konoha leadership makes his path to Hokage exceptionally difficult.
- Fate and foreknowledge: Knowledge of the future Uchiha massacre motivates Chonhua to act before events unfold.
- Parody of game systems: The chapter satirizes gacha mechanics, paid currency, loans, pity-less draws, and “pay-to-win” progression through the system’s Primogem-based structure.
Character Interactions
- Chonhua and the system: Their relationship is argumentative and comedic. Chonhua repeatedly mocks the system’s inflexibility and commercialized mechanics, while the system tries to persuade him to accept increasingly dangerous loans.
- The system adopts an almost anxious personality, attempting to keep Chonhua from abandoning the Hokage objective.
- Although the system claims their arrangement is mutually beneficial, Chonhua remains suspicious and interrogates its motives.
- The final reveal introduces an unnamed high-level shinobi card, whose appearance strongly suggests Itachi and establishes that Chonhua may now possess access to extraordinary power.
