"Aunt Yukiko, it hasn't started yet," Sonoko said to Yukiko.
"Sonoko, what did you just call me?" Yukiko fixed Sonoko with a dangerous stare, making Sonoko keenly sense the threat in her eyes.
Ran glanced at Sonoko, then gave her a look that said, "Good luck."
"Ahem, ahem. I called you Sister Yukiko just now. Didn't you hear me?" Sonoko said with a light cough.
Only then did Yukiko withdraw that dangerous gaze. Much better. She was quite satisfied with Sonoko's response.
Sonoko couldn't help but curl her lips, though only inwardly. She absolutely couldn't let Yukiko see it, or Yukiko wouldn't let her off easily.
Elsewhere, Chen glanced at Ai, then asked, "Ai, why are you following me?"
"Do you think I'm getting in your way?" Ai shot Chen a sidelong glance and asked calmly.
"No. How could I possibly think Ai is in the way?"
"What is there that you wouldn't dare do?" Ai said with a curl of her lips.
"There are plenty of things I don't dare do." Chen walked onto the deck and looked out at the distant sea.
"This place is so boring. If I'd known, I wouldn't have come with Sonoko to this exhibition or whatever." Chen looked into the distance with a bored expression.
He had never been interested in jewelry to begin with. Coming here felt like torture.
Ai stood beside Chen, watching the distant ocean with him as they enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere.
But that tranquility was soon shattered as a voice suddenly rang out.
"Chen, you're here too?"
Hearing the familiar voice, Chen turned around and saw Eri. He hadn't expected her to be here as well.
"Eri, you're here too?" Chen looked at Eri in surprise.
