Living with Mikoto

Because Hyuga Shin had kicked Fugaku Uchiha away and saved the Hyuga Clan's face, Hyuga Hiashi now saw him in a new light.

"Don't worry, everyone! After all, Mikoto still needs me to look after her, so naturally, I'll be fine." Hyuga Shin smiled at Mikoto.

"Huh!?" Mikoto froze for a moment, then shyly buried her face in the table.

Seeing Mikoto's embarrassment and the smile on Hyuga Shin's face, the others couldn't help feeling speechless. Even now, he was still trying to flirt with a girl.

Everyone shot Hyuga Shin a disdainful look, then ignored him.

Hyuga Shin smiled. He was happy that so many people cared about him.

He took out his lunch and ate at ease. He didn't take the Uchiha Clan's revenge to heart.

As long as the Uchiha Clan wasn't stupid, they would never openly target Hyuga Shin.

The Uchiha Clan's reputation spoke for itself. If they went after Hyuga Shin now, they would definitely incur the hostility of every other clan.

It wasn't that Hyuga Shin had so much clout. It was that the Uchiha Clan's actions over the years had already put them at odds with every other clan.

There might be people in all of Konoha who didn't hate the Uchiha Clan, but there wasn't a single person who didn't dislike them.

No matter what, Hyuga Shin was a member of the Hyuga Clan. If the Uchiha dared to go after him, wouldn't that mean they might go after people from other clans, too? Naturally, that would make everyone hostile toward them.

If they tried to attack Hyuga Shin in secret, he was even less worried. He was actually looking for a whetstone!

Not long after lunch, afternoon classes began. They were still practicing with kunai, which was extremely tedious and boring.

The Ninja Academy existed mainly to give civilians an opportunity and provide Konoha with fresh blood, so naturally, it taught the most basic skills first.

After afternoon classes ended, Hyuga Shin followed Mikoto to the Uchiha compound.

Although Fugaku Uchiha was still a little nine-year-old kid, he carried considerable weight in the Uchiha Clan, being its greatest prodigy.

So Mikoto's expulsion was already a foregone conclusion. Hyuga Shin went back with her so she could collect her things.

Under the hostile gazes of the Uchiha, Hyuga Shin and Mikoto arrived at her residence, a very large house.

Mikoto packed up her important belongings, then gave the place a lingering look before leaving with Hyuga Shin.

Just as they were about to leave the Uchiha compound, a tall figure blocked their way.

Hyuga Shin looked up at him. The man had a square face, and an oppressive aura rolled off him. He bore some resemblance to Fugaku Uchiha.

"That's the Uchiha Clan Head," Mikoto Uchiha whispered, her eyes filled with worry.

"You're the one who injured Fugaku." A heavy, murderous pressure surged toward Hyuga Shin.

Hyuga Shin furrowed his brows, then simply ignored it. If you had enough confidence and strength, pressure and killing intent were nothing.

Hyuga Shin had killing intent of his own, though it came not from killing people, but from killing animals.

Seeing that Hyuga Shin was unaffected, Uchiha Tei froze for a moment. A cold glint flashed through his eyes.

"Get out of the way, you mangy dog," Hyuga Shin said coldly, showing the Uchiha Clan Head no respect at all.

"You little brat, what did you say?" The Uchiha nearby glared at Hyuga Shin as if they wanted to devour him.

If Uchiha Tei hadn't warned them beforehand, they would have attacked and killed Hyuga Shin right there.

Uchiha Tei was the angriest of all. Someone had called him a dog. If not for his restraint and his concern for the Uchiha Clan's greater interests, he would have attacked on the spot.

He made no effort to hide the chill in his eyes as he stared coldly at Hyuga Shin and Mikoto.

Mikoto shivered, fear flashing in her eyes.

Sensing her unease, Hyuga Shin reached out and took Mikoto's hand. A warm feeling washed through her, dispelling the chill in her heart.

"You're impressive. I hope I'll see you again next time," Uchiha Tei said before turning to leave.

"Heh. As long as you're still alive, you'll see me again. I just hope you live long enough for us to meet," Hyuga Shin taunted him with a sneer.

"Hmph! A sharp tongue won't do you any good." Uchiha Tei snorted and left, suppressing his anger. If they hadn't been in Konoha, he would have made sure Hyuga Shin died a horrible death.

Hyuga Shin turned around with a cold smile, then left with Mikoto.

He dared to provoke Uchiha Tei because he wasn't stupid. The Uchiha Clan would never dare attack him openly.

Even if they really dared to attack him, Hyuga Shin still wasn't afraid. He could already use the Tenseigan's Space-Time Manipulation to a limited extent.

He could teleport to any place he could see or sense. With this ability, he could easily take Mikoto and escape; he didn't have to fear the Uchiha Clan attacking them.

"Clan Head, are we really going to let them leave just like that? Has our Uchiha Clan become a place where anyone can come and go as they please?"

"Akito, everything I do is for the Uchiha. Our reputation is already poor. If we force him to stay here, it'll only get worse."

"Then don't even think about competing for the Hokage Position. We'll lose influence in the village, too. There's no point in putting our Uchiha Clan at a disadvantage over one brat."

As the Uchiha Clan Head, Uchiha Tei naturally had to consider more than anyone else. He had to weigh the pros and cons before making any decision.

"Then we're just going to let that brat act so arrogantly? And what about Mikoto Uchiha? She actually dared to betray the clan. We can't let this set a precedent!" Uchiha Akito said indignantly.

"We can't target him openly, but we can eliminate them in secret. We'll have to cover our tracks and pin it on another ninja village afterward. I'll leave this to you, Akito. Are you confident you can do it?"

Uchiha Tei looked at Uchiha Akito and asked.

"Of course. They're just two five-year-old kids." Uchiha Akito looked confident. As an elite Jonin, taking care of a couple of five-year-olds would be a piece of cake.

"The most important thing isn't killing them, but pinning it on someone else. Don't let anyone notice a flaw. Don't be careless," Uchiha Tei warned him.

"I guarantee I'll complete the mission." Uchiha Akito licked his lips.

"Mm." Uchiha Tei nodded.

Uchiha Akito was one of the few experts in the Uchiha Clan, only slightly weaker than him. Uchiha Tei had great faith in his abilities.

"Don't go after him just yet. It would be best to wait a while, or it'll be too obvious," Uchiha Tei said after thinking it over.

Uchiha Akito nodded.

Hyuga Shin had no idea that the Uchiha Clan was already preparing to attack him in secret.

But even if he had known, he wouldn't have cared. In fact, he would have welcomed it with open arms. He was sorely lacking in combat experience right now, so naturally, he'd be happy to get a free sparring partner.

"My house is naturally not as big as yours, so don't complain," Hyuga Shin teased.
