Chapter 4: Lottery (Part 2)

"May all the gods and Buddhas bless me! If I draw something good, I'll definitely offer you incense. Please bless me!"

Hyuga Shin closed his eyes and prayed, then tapped the words "Lottery."

As soon as he tapped them, the items on the Lottery Wheel refreshed. This time, there were only five.

Aside from Observation Haki, which had appeared in the previous draw, the other four were: the ocular technique Susanoo, the ocular technique Planetary Devastation, the Zanpakuto Illusion, and Sage Mode.

"Looks like praying to the gods really works! Other than Observation Haki being a bit useless, the rest are all incredibly powerful!"

Hyuga Shin said excitedly.

There was no need to explain Susanoo and Planetary Devastation. One was a powerful technique that could only be used with the Mangekyō Sharingan, and the other was a powerful technique of the Rinnegan.

The Zanpakuto Illusion belonged to Lord Aizen. It could completely hypnotize all five senses. If he got it, he'd be invincible.

Sage Mode was powerful, too. How many people in the entire Ninja World had mastered it? Even Madara Uchiha hadn't learned it.

Observation Haki was a little underwhelming, at least for Hyuga Shin. He had the Tenseigan, which gave him a 360-degree, unobstructed field of vision, so Observation Haki wasn't much use to him.

Unless it reached the level of Pirate King Roger's ability to hear the Voice of All Things, it would overlap with the Tenseigan's abilities. The only difference was that one let you see, while the other let you hear.

Of the five prizes, the one Hyuga Shin wanted most was naturally the Zanpakuto Illusion.

It would be an exaggeration to say he'd be invincible with it, but unless someone at the Six Paths Level showed up, no one would even be able to touch the hem of his clothes.

Hyuga Shin had no idea whether he could hypnotize someone at the Six Paths Level. After all, people at that level were practically gods.

All in all, these five rewards were already excellent. As long as he didn't draw Observation Haki or Planetary Devastation, he'd be happy with any of the others.

Although Planetary Devastation was a powerful Rinnegan technique, it didn't tempt Hyuga Shin much. Just like the Rasengan he'd drawn earlier, given enough time, he could develop it himself.

Planetary Devastation was, in essence, gravity. The Tenseigan could manipulate gravity, too—in fact, it was even stronger than the Rinnegan. So, in theory, the Tenseigan could use Planetary Devastation as well.

The lottery began, and the pointer spun rapidly.

Hyuga Shin watched it whirling around and started to feel dizzy. He quickly closed his eyes and stopped watching. All he had to do was wait for the result.

Just as Hyuga Shin was growing unbearably impatient, the pointer stopped—on Susanoo.

Hyuga Shin finally breathed a sigh of relief. Susanoo might not have been the best prize on the wheel, but it was very important to him.

At that moment, Hyuga Shin realized there was a problem. Could his Tenseigan actually use Susanoo, a power belonging to the Mangekyō Sharingan?

"The system should be able to handle it, right?" Hyuga Shin thought. The system must have helped his Tenseigan evolve, after all.

Otherwise, Hyuga Shin didn't believe that having Ōtsutsuki Clan blood and a high-purity Byakugan would guarantee his evolution. Besides, he'd never gone through a transitional stage. His Tenseigan had become perfect right away.

Something this trivial should be easy for the system to fix. Hyuga Shin felt he was worrying over nothing.

Sure enough, a streak of light shot into Hyuga Shin's eyes. A huge surge of ocular power stirred, then settled.

Hyuga Shin could clearly feel the power dwelling in his eyes. He couldn't use it yet, but it was really there.

"I finally got something good. With Susanoo and the Tenseigan's Summoning Technique, maybe I can go head-to-head with Big Pillar's Thousand-Armed Buddha." Hyuga Shin couldn't help fantasizing.

The Tenseigan's Summoning Technique could call forth a Stone Statue capable of suppressing the Nine-Tails. If he combined it with Susanoo to form Armored Susanoo, it should be stronger than Susanoo combined with the Nine-Tails.

It should be able to hold its own against Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands enhanced by Sage Mode.

There was only one lottery draw left. Hyuga Shin didn't hesitate. He was satisfied with getting Susanoo, so whatever he drew next didn't matter.

There were more than a dozen items on the Lottery Wheel this time, but many of them were pretty ridiculous.

Hyuga Shin even spotted a jianbing guozi among them.

"Did they prepare a late-night snack for me?" Hyuga Shin quipped, then tapped the lottery button.

After spinning for half a minute, the pointer stopped. It didn't land on the jianbing guozi, but on Observation Haki, which had appeared in both of the previous draws.

"You showed up in all three draws. Looks like there's no avoiding you!"

As the method of using and training Observation Haki entered his mind, Hyuga Shin realized he'd underestimated it. It could do more than enhance the five senses.

When trained to a high level, Observation Haki could even predict what was about to happen and glimpse fragments of the future—in other words, the Sixth Sense, or Heart's Perception.

That was incredible. It was practically the perfect counter to the Zanpakuto Illusion!

But he'd have to train it to a high level before he could use it that way. Although Hyuga Shin could learn anything he received from the system instantly, that only meant he knew how to use it. His Observation Haki was still at the most basic level, and he'd have to train to improve it.

After leaving the lottery page, Hyuga Shin noticed a character panel in the corner. He reached out and opened it.

The panel listed all of his abilities, giving Hyuga Shin a clear understanding of what he could do.

First was the Tenseigan. Because he didn't have enough chakra, Hyuga Shin hadn't known how many abilities his Tenseigan possessed.

After looking through the list, Hyuga Shin discovered that his Tenseigan had all of Otsutsuki Toneri's abilities, as well as those of the Giant Tenseigan.

Most importantly, there was Space-Time Manipulation. The Tenseigan could use spatial abilities, but it absolutely couldn't manipulate time.

Space-Time Manipulation and Takamagahara should be unique to Hyuga Shin. That wasn't strange; just like with the Mangekyō Sharingan, the ocular techniques awakened by each user were generally different.

"If I can truly manipulate space and time, then even if someone manages to defeat me, they won't be able to kill me," Hyuga Shin murmured.
