"The Sage of Six Paths is just a legend. What makes you think you can summon him for us to see?" Nawaki looked at Hyuga Shin with disdain, thinking he was just showing off.
"As long as you don't die, you'll definitely live to see that day." Hyuga Shin patted Nawaki on the shoulder, then turned to Yamada Kenji.
"You don't seem nervous at all."
"W-why would I be nervous? You're here to protect me, aren't you?" Yamada Kenji stammered under Hyuga Shin's sharp gaze.
Hyuga Shin gave him a long, hard look, then said, "I hope so."
Hyuga Shin was certain this guy had ties to Danzo—or, more likely, was one of Danzo's pawns.
"Get this straight: I'm the client. What kind of attitude is that? I'll file a complaint, you know!" Yamada Kenji said arrogantly.
Hyuga Shin turned his head and fixed him with his icy blue eyes. An overwhelming chill enveloped Yamada Kenji, making him feel as though he'd been plunged into an ice cellar.
Only after a moment did Hyuga Shin look away. Yamada Kenji let out a huge sigh of relief, then settled down, not daring to even look at Hyuga Shin.
Half a day later, Hyuga Shin and the others finally entered the Land of Rain. The stench of decay in the air made Hyuga Shin feel deeply uncomfortable.
The constant rain had caused the trees and leaves to rot, giving off an awful smell.
"The Land of Rain, a country that seems cursed, crying every single day." Hyuga Shin stood on a hillside and sighed.
Kushina pursed her lips. She knew Hyuga Shin very well, and could tell he was just putting on airs.
"This country is so chaotic. Everyone we've seen has a numb, vacant look on their face," Mikoto said softly.
