Ran stumbled forward, and Chen reached out to catch her, helping her steady herself.

"Phew! Thanks, Chen." Ran let out a sigh of relief.

"It's nothing. But why did this Ferris wheel stop? Don't tell me something happened?"

Chen wondered if Conan's bad luck had rubbed off on him. A Ferris wheel that might not have an accident in over a decade just happened to break down when he was riding it.

After calming herself down, Ran realized Chen was still holding her. Her face instantly flushed red, and she hurriedly pulled away.

"Why did the Ferris wheel stop? Did something happen?" Ran touched her burning cheeks and asked.

"I'm not sure, but we really are unlucky. I just hope it isn't some man-made incident."

It would be fine if it were really an accident. What he feared was a terrorist attack, with someone planting bombs on the Ferris wheel.

In Conan's world, that kind of thing was hardly impossible.

Boom!

A thunderous explosion rang out as the cabin directly below Chen and Ran exploded before their eyes.

Ran's face turned deathly pale. Seeing the explosion, how could she not understand what was happening?

"Chen, did we run into a terrorist attack?" Ran asked, her little face pale as snow.

"It's okay. Maybe it's just part of the amusement park's entertainment program. Perhaps there wasn't anyone in that cabin at all."

Chen tried to comfort Ran.

But just as Chen finished speaking, the speakers inside the cabin suddenly came on.

"Everyone on the Ferris wheel, you are now our hostages. I imagine you must all be feeling wonderful right now, yes? Hahahaha!"

Chen's expression darkened. He had just said everything was fine, and this guy immediately came out to slap him in the face.

"Chen!" Ran's face went even whiter
