"Chen, did you hear something?" Ran Mouri asked curiously, her brows slightly furrowed.
Chen patted Ran Mouri on the shoulder, then pointed behind her.
Ran Mouri turned around and saw someone nailed to the wall by a sword, like a demon slain by a knight in a painting.
"Ahhh!!!"
Chen had wisely covered his ears beforehand. Ran Mouri's high-pitched scream was really something! It would be a shame if she did not become a singer.
"Chen!!!"
Ran Mouri threw herself straight into Chen's arms.
The dead man was naturally Boss Manaka. His corpse looked rather terrifying—his mouth hung wide open, his eyes were bulging, and he wore an expression of utter unwillingness to die.
"If you're going to kill someone, just kill them. Why make it so horrifying? Someone fainthearted might be scared to death by this," Chen said as he looked at the scene.
Ran Mouri was quite timid as well, but she had seen enough corpses to build up some resistance. Otherwise, she might have fainted from fright.
In fact, it was fortunate that Chen was here. If Ran Mouri had been alone, she probably really would have passed out.
"Ran Mouri, what happened?"
A burst of footsteps approached as Kogoro Mouri and Conan ran over.
When Conan saw Ran Mouri pressed against Chen's chest, flames practically burst from his eyes. It was absolutely infuriating.
"Uncle Mouri, there's been a murder. Look over there." Chen pointed at the wall ahead.
Kogoro Mouri looked forward, then took several frightened steps back upon seeing Boss Manaka's corpse.
"What is this?" Conan's eyes widened.
Without wasting any more words, Kogoro Mouri steadied himself and immediately took out his phone to call the police.
Inspector Megure soon arrived with his men. Ochiai, the museum director, and the staff were also there.
