Vermouth felt like coughing up blood. One hundred million dollars? Why didn't he just rob a bank? Did he even know how much one hundred million dollars was?
"What? Gin has amassed over three hundred million dollars over the years. You used to be a huge star, didn't you? This should be pocket change to you!" Shin said nonchalantly.
She couldn't even bear to part with one hundred million dollars. Vermouth was really stingy. Gin had been so straightforward—he'd handed over one hundred million dollars to save his life without even blinking.
"Forget it. I don't need your help anymore." Vermouth shot Shin a sidelong glance.
He was actually asking for such an outrageous price. Did he think Vermouth's money grew on trees? He was treating her like a pig to be slaughtered.
"Wait. Do you think you can just come looking for me whenever you want? There's a price to pay for seeking me out." Shin looked Vermouth up and down.
Vermouth's heart tightened. She watched Shin warily, already beginning to regret it.
Why did it feel as though she were a little lamb delivering herself right to his door?
Shin started the car, and it sped away.
"What are you trying to do?" Vermouth asked warily. Instinctively, she felt that something was wrong.
"That's a very fitting word choice." Shin gave Vermouth a meaningful look and chuckled.
Vermouth's body stiffened. "I want to get out."
"Once you get into my car, you can't get out," Shin said softly.
Vermouth drew the pistol hidden beneath her clothes and aimed it at Shin's temple, her face cold.
"Stop the car, or I'll shoot. I know you're capable, but do you really think you can dodge my bullet? You can try it." Vermouth's voice was icy.
"Don't be so cold, okay?
