"What's going on?"
Looking at the puppet girl still seated upon the throne, Mu Yuyi's heart was filled with doubt and vigilance. He was not an emotional person; he would not believe her simply because she had said she was waiting for him. Yet what had happened on the eighth floor truly made Mu Yuyi want to stay. He wanted to see what secret was hidden behind all this.
"My name is Qing Huan. I came from Central River Continent to Southern Bright Continent thirteen hundred years ago, all to await your appearance!" The puppet girl repeated her previous words in that clear, flawless voice.
"Why were you waiting for me?" Mu Yuyi asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Because my grandmaster left behind ancestral instructions, telling me to find you!"
"Who was your grandmaster?"
"The founding patriarch of Central River Continent's Yin-Yang Sect—Seimei!" the girl said solemnly.
"Yin-Yang Sect? Seimei?" Mu Yuyi's sky-blue pupils contracted slightly as a bolt of lightning seemed to flash through his mind.
The name sounded somewhat familiar. Together with the Yin-Yang Sect, it instantly reminded Mu Yuyi of memories from his previous life. If he remembered correctly, there had been a famous onmyoji in Japan named Abe no Seimei.
"I am an onmyoji!" As though she could see through Mu Yuyi's thoughts, that clear voice rang out again.
Mu Yuyi did not move, nor did his expression change in the slightest, but a monstrous wave had already risen within his heart.
"We onmyoji understand how to observe the stars, read faces, determine directions, foresee disasters and anomalies, draw talismans and chant incantations, and cast illusions. That is why I was able to find you!" the puppet girl continued.
"Where is your grandmaster, Seimei, now?"
After a long while, Mu Yuyi finally spoke.
"He has already ascended!"
