Lin Chuan remained where he was, quietly watching Baili Chenle as he prepared to leave.
"Is there a problem?" Baili Chenle asked in confusion.
"I remember saying that there were some things I needed to see your true bodies to confirm!" Lin Chuan's blood-red eyes swept across everyone present, lingering especially on the sickly youth Liu Chuanfeng and the veiled woman. "But nearly everyone you brought to meet me is a clone!"
"I see..." Baili Chenle smiled awkwardly and glanced around at his companions.
Lin Chuan was right. Most of these people were indeed clones. It was not that Baili Chenle had done so deliberately; he simply had not expected Lin Chuan to be able to tell that they were clones.
Lin Chuan was the first person to see through their clone forms. This was entirely beyond Baili Chenle's expectations and caught him somewhat off guard. As for their true bodies, it was impossible for them to come here at present.
"You owe me a favor, right?" Baili Chenle said after a moment of thought.
Lin Chuan narrowed his eyes but still nodded.
The situation at the Qin Clan had been extremely critical. If Baili Chenle had not sacrificed a clone at the last moment to help them escape, Lin Chuan would have had to expose far too many things. Thus, he truly did owe Baili Chenle a favor.
"How about this? Consider the favor you owe me settled, and let us participate in this operation with our clones," Baili Chenle said softly. He then added, "Our true bodies genuinely cannot come over in the short term. It isn't that I don't want you to see them. But rest assured, even in clone form, our strength will not be affected. We will not make your [Daybreak] into cannon fodder!"
