A Tentative Move

The coffin slowly opened, and Southern Dipper, clad in a black cloak patterned with red clouds, stepped out. His amber eyes calmly swept over everyone present.

At that moment, everyone's breathing grew much heavier as they stared fearfully at Southern Dipper of [Akatsuki] emerging from the redwood coffin.

Within the [Akatsuki] organization, two people had advanced the fastest in cultivation: Kong Chen and Southern Dipper. Both were single-element cultivators. One possessed the fire element, along with the strange Red Cherry Karma Fire, while the other possessed the exceedingly rare light element. Both of their cultivations had now reached the mid-Nascent Soul stage, making them the strongest cultivators in [Akatsuki].

Everyone said Southern Dipper governed life while Northern Dipper governed death—one light, one darkness. Yet in actual combat, Southern Dipper was no less terrifying than Northern Dipper, and at times he was even harder to guard against. From his hands, one could witness many ancient spells that had already vanished from the world. These spells shared one obvious trait: they were relatively slow to cast and required intricate ancient hand seals, such as Divine Light Finger. But once such spells were unleashed, they possessed the power to destroy heaven and earth.

After Azure Dragon's death, [Akatsuki], under White Tiger's leadership, had continued to uphold the rules set forth in the Charter of Akatsuki. No matter the mission, two people would generally act together, and the pair that worked together most often were Southern Dipper and Northern Dipper.

The only exception was Black Tortoise. He had always acted alone, but he himself was originally composed of Black Zetsu and White Zetsu. Combined with the Clone Technique, even members of [Akatsuki] could not tell which one was Black Tortoise's true body, much less outsiders. Assassinating Black Tortoise was basically impossible.
