Background / History

Gui Yifan was a respected martial-world figure in his original world, known as the “Scholar of Sacred Hands” and considered one of the righteous path’s pillars. His martial inheritance came from an elder of his family who abandoned literary pursuits for martial arts and integrated calligraphy into an acupoint-sealing art. 137 148

He awakens in the Reincarnation World with Pei Hongni and Tie Canghong. When Yuan Xu regains consciousness, Gui introduces the three martial artists and calmly attempts to establish where they are. He also prevents Pei from responding too harshly when another survivor wakes. 135

After Yang Chu kills the demon pig threatening the group, Gui is visibly shocked by Yang Chu’s power and regards him with caution. Nevertheless, he approaches Yang Chu respectfully, apologizes for misjudging him, and acknowledges the vast difference between their strengths. 137
