As the four stepped through the stone door, the scene before them immediately changed. They arrived in a vast void, where thick gray stone pillars stood amid the emptiness.
The pillars were immensely long, as though they connected heaven and earth. Looking out, countless pillars stood in neat rows throughout the void, each spaced exactly the same distance apart.
"This is the maze, an incomparably powerful illusion array. Without knowing the method, you could spend a lifetime and never fly out of this void. Stay close to me!" Liao Yun Jian said loudly.
Then, Liao Yun Jian stepped through the void and began weaving between the stone pillars.
Su Mo and the other two followed closely behind, not daring to relax in the slightest.
Liao Yun Jian led the three around and around through the forest of pillars. It seemed chaotic and disorderly, yet he had clearly grasped some sort of pattern.
After circling about for the time it took to burn an incense stick, the scene before them changed again. They appeared within a passageway, and behind them stood the entrance to the Yanmo Earth Palace.

A crisp sound came from beneath Su Mo's foot. Looking down, he saw that he had stepped on a skeleton and crushed it.
Looking around, he found quite a few skeletons within the passageway, no fewer than a dozen at a rough glance.
"Why are there so many skeletons here?" Nie Qian asked in surprise.
"They were once academy disciples, trapped here until they died! I myself was trapped here for an entire year!" Liao Yun Jian said with a wistful expression.
Back then, he had entered with two fellow disciples, but in the end, he alone had escaped alive.
"Let's keep moving!" Liao Yun Jian called out before continuing onward.
