"What can you see in this?"
Tony Stark, who had been staring blankly at the holographic projection, snapped out of it slightly. Without turning around, he frowned and said, "I keep feeling like there's something important hidden in here, but I just can't grasp that fleeting flash of inspiration."
"Atoms."
Li Si deliberately studied it in silence for a moment before finally speaking.
This was the architectural model Tony Stark's father, Howard Stark, had left behind. It contained the atomic structure of a new element derived from the Tesseract. This new element would also become the foundation for Tony Stark's upgraded Arc Reactor in the future.
Although Howard Stark had discovered this new element back then, he had been limited by the technology of the era and had been unable to create it. All he had managed was an inferior version of the Arc Reactor.
In the end, Howard Stark could only hide his discovery of the new element within this architectural model and leave it to Tony Stark, hoping that his son would be able to create it one day.
In the original story, when Tony Stark was on the verge of dying from palladium poisoning, the pressure of life and death had indeed unleashed all his potential, allowing him to successfully discover and produce this new element.
But clearly, because Li Si had used the Regeneration Serum to help Tony Stark remove the shrapnel from his chest ahead of time, Tony Stark had noticed something now, yet remained stuck on that fleeting spark of insight.
"What did you say?"
At the word "atoms," Tony Stark shuddered from head to toe.
Atoms!
That was right—atoms!
That strange sense of familiarity, always fleeting as though veiled behind a curtain, had finally been found!
"This is the atomic nucleus."
