Tony Stark's birthday party hadn't been anything too extravagant. After a few people ate some catered food, the gathering was called to an end. They had barely even touched the alcohol.
Afterward, Rhodey left alone, while Gwen and Lee stayed at Tony Stark's villa. There were plenty of empty rooms there anyway.
More importantly, Tony Stark was already itching to start tinkering with the new element. Pepper Potts directly pulled Gwen upstairs to rest, while Lee was dragged down to the basement by Tony Stark to begin an all-night renovation of the space.
"How do you want to do this?"
Lee helplessly took the handheld drill Tony Stark handed him.
"Smash the walls, rework the wiring. Materials will be delivered later. We're building a Prism Accelerator."
Tony Stark, dressed in a black tank top and holding a sledgehammer, swung it hard at the villa wall as soon as he finished speaking.
Lee shrugged. "Can we get some music?"
"No problem. Jarvis, play Pacific Rim!"
"You bastard, you secretly recorded it? I told you, that's my personal entrance BGM!"
"Now it's time for Lee Stein to strike! Destroy this concrete, boy!"
Amid the stirring music and their bickering, the two began gleefully demolishing the basement walls and floor.
They worked straight through until nearly noon the next day, barely managing to finish building and calibrating the Prism Accelerator.
"Can we eat lunch first?"
Seeing Tony Stark preparing to immediately synthesize the new element, Lee rubbed his growling stomach.
"We'd have to go out to eat now. Let's finish this first, then eat."
Tony Stark remained bent over the Prism Accelerator, inspecting it intently without even looking up.
"Where's that gorgeous redheaded assistant of yours? Didn't you have her deliver meals on schedule?"
Lee asked in exasperation.
