The Federation's higher-ups had been rather puzzled lately.

Ever since Andromeda Development Company had vanished, there had been no major changes in the war for the first few years. But recently, the Zerg's offensive against the Federation had suddenly weakened considerably. The number of Zerg fleets on the front lines had dropped by a full two-thirds, as if the Federation was no longer the Zerg's primary target!

Meanwhile, the Zerg border, which had originally been advancing steadily, had suddenly stopped moving. It had remained unchanged for an entire year!

Over the past year, not only had the Zerg not launched a single proactive attack against the Federation, but even when the Federation carried out sabotage missions, they could clearly sense that the number of Zerg troops stationed around factories and mines had greatly decreased.

The Federation had attempted several offensives against the Zerg border, but strangely, the Zerg merely held their ground and showed no intention whatsoever of pursuing them!

Revenge was in the Zerg's nature. To suffer an attack yet offer no retaliation at all, acting as though nothing had happened—this was truly abnormal!

Could some powerful civilization have gone to war with the Zerg, tying down their main force? Judging from all the signs, it was not impossible. Yet the Federation knew of no civilization powerful enough to contend with the Zerg's main army.
