Background

Tang San originates from the Tang Sect, where he steals the sect’s supreme arts, the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, in violation of its rules. After the theft is exposed, he flees to Ghost Sorrow Cliff and jumps, claiming that his death proves his loyalty to the sect. His soul then enters the body of the original Tang San, who had died amid Tang Hao’s battle with Qian Xunji. 16

Tang Hao takes him into seclusion and treats him harshly, behavior that suggests Tang Hao may know the Tang San in his care is a soul replacement. 16

Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass is not ordinary Blue Silver Grass, but an unawakened Blue Silver Emperor lineage inherited from Ah Yin. Its quality allows it to coexist with the Clear Sky Hammer as one of his Twin Martial Souls. 17 22

At Notting Academy, Tang San comes into conflict with the gatekeeper over his Martial Soul certificate and considers killing him with a Silent Sleeve Arrow. Yu Xiaogang intervenes and later becomes Tang San’s teacher and adopted father figure. 21 22

Appearance

No physical description is provided in the available context.

  • Possesses Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. 81 152
  • His Blue Silver Grass visibly carries poisonous patterns and toxins after absorbing unsuitable poison-attribute soul rings. 113
  • Later possesses an exceptionally formidable soul-ring and soul-bone configuration after accepting Xiao Wu’s soul ring and soul bone. 156

Personality

Tang San is repeatedly portrayed as impulsive, prideful, and intensely competitive. He is willing to risk exposure or danger to display his abilities, such as revealing the Clear Sky Hammer in a tournament despite warnings and insisting on entering the Soul Master Tournament despite Martial Soul Hall’s intent to kill him. 81 82

He is also calculating when it benefits him. Though he develops killing intent toward Yu Xiaogang after learning that his poison-attribute soul rings have damaged his Blue Silver Grass, he suppresses it when Yu Xiaogang claims to know a method for cultivating Twin Martial Souls. 147 152

Tang San’s conduct toward allies and family is criticized as utilitarian. He withholds the Mysterious Heaven Skill from his companions, uses Bai Chenxiang to gain Bai He’s favor, and supports Ma Hongjun’s pursuit of Bai Chenxiang despite her isolation and pressure. 99 156 157

His fixation on maintaining face and superiority becomes especially apparent after Liu Erlong publicly beats him in Heaven Dou City. Seeing Dugu Yan and Hu Liena possess upgraded soul-ring configurations further damages his confidence in the advantages of his Twin Martial Souls, while his resentment toward Yu Xiaogang intensifies. 240 241
