Background / History
God King Tang's divine consciousness reincarnated into the newborn son of Tang Xiao and Ning Wanqing. Retaining the name that had followed him from Tang Sect assassin to God King, he subtly influenced Tang Xiao to name him Tang San; his immediate goal after returning to the Douluo Continent was to find Xiao Wu. 171
Tang San began secretly practicing Tang Sect arts while still a toddler. When Tang Xiao discovered him, Tang San concealed his reincarnation by claiming that a god had taught him the techniques in dreams. He used this explanation to secure his father's support and gain access to cultivation resources. 221 222
He introduced Tang Sect hidden weapons and techniques to the Clear Sky Sect, but insisted that their manufacturing methods remain exclusive to Tang Sect disciples. The sect elders allowed him to establish the Tang Sect near Clear Sky Sect territory, intending for it to function as an affiliated force under Tang San's dual leadership. 223 224
After awakening Twin Martial Souls and Innate Full Soul Power, Tang San travelled with Tang Xiao toward the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well. Spirit Hall's occupation of the site prevented him from obtaining its Immortal Herbs, and Pufferfish Douluo poisoned Tang Xiao during their retreat. Tang San attempted to treat his father and was appointed acting sect master while he refined antidotes. 232 233 234 235 236
Later, Tang San used the Water Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng to reach level 30, obtained the Eight Spider Lances from a Man Faced Demon Spider, and searched the Star Dou Great Forest for Xiao Wu. Finding neither Xiao Wu nor the twin lions Da Ming and Er Ming, he concluded that Su Mo and the Spirit Hall Empire were likely responsible. 284 286 287
To gain divine power quickly, Tang San entered Slaughter City. Over two years, he won one hundred Hell Slaughter Arena matches under the name Asura King, then passed the Hell Road. When he learned that Su Mo had already become the Asura God's successor and Bo Saixi the Sea God, he accepted the Rakshasa God's inheritance as his remaining path to challenge them. 289 290
Tang San later warned Tang Xiao that the Spirit Hall Empire possessed multiple gods and urged strategic restraint. During Su Mo's assault on the Clear Sky Sect, Tang San was crushed by overwhelming pressure while the sect was annihilated. 291 295 296
Appearance
As a young child, Tang San has black hair, black eyes, and an unusually composed bearing. When practicing the Purple Demon Eye, a faint purple light appears in his eyes. 221
- Possesses a maturity and calmness inconsistent with his apparent age. 221 222
- His pupils become deep purple while using the Purple Demon Eye. 222 223
- Manifests eight spider-like lances from his back after acquiring his External Soul Bone. 286
Personality
Tang San is patient, calculating, and highly secretive. He maintains his cover as a divinely favored child to conceal his memories and Tang Sect knowledge, using the deception to gain the Clear Sky Sect's protection and resources. 222 223
His strongest attachments are to the Tang Sect's legacy and to Xiao Wu. He considers the Tang Sect his true root, refuses to freely distribute its core arts or manufacturing methods, and is willing to found it regardless of the Clear Sky Sect's approval once he becomes strong enough. 223
Tang San is deeply disturbed when events differ from his memories of his previous life. The disappearance of Xiao Wu, Da Ming, and Er Ming drives him toward intense hatred of Su Mo and the Spirit Hall Empire, while his desire for revenge motivates him to accept the Rakshasa God's inheritance. 287 290
