Background / History

Holmes lives at 221B Baker Street. When Ye Yan is arrested over Philip Dalmans's death, Holmes immediately identifies him as the actual victim rather than the murderer and goes to Scotland Yard. Dr. Watson had also asked Holmes to look after Ye Yan. 1 3

Rather than serving as Scotland Yard's consulting detective, Holmes is a specially appointed professor at the Royal Research Institute. His bloodstain-identification reagent has aided police work, and his greater knowledge of mysticism leads him to offer his services in the Serial Horse-Belly Corpse Case. 3

During his university years, Holmes's excessive spiritual awareness apparently caused a negative Soul Essence state called Fascination. He spent eight years secluded in his laboratory before recovering, later claiming that the problem was not his brain, but the world itself. 8

When Ye Yan's exposure to the mysterious requires legal supervision, Holmes applies to become his guardian. He frames the decision as compensation for frightening Ye Yan during his investigation into the latter's apparent resurrection, while also suspecting Jules Dalmans's connection to the Corpse Mover. 4 5

Serial Horse-Belly Corpse Case

Holmes clears Ye Yan's immediate suspicion, deduces the Corpse Mover's role in moving Philip Dalmans's body, and joins the investigation as an adviser. He travels to Jersey Island to search for Jules Dalmans, gives Ye Yan a revolver for protection, and warns him not to return to London. 3 5 7 8

After returning to London, Holmes identifies London Bridge as the center of the Sunset Church's ritual. He helps seal off the area, receives Ye Yan's location information through Watson's communication device, and leads the raid on Pastor Austin's church. 12 13 14

Holmes destroys the ritual formation, fights cultists and the Abomination, and survives the battle only with severe physical impairment. He prevents Ye Yan from continuing to consume the Abomination despite being near collapse himself. 14 15
