I never lose
"You've come."
"Oh--"
Yun Jingheng calmly gazed at the blue-clad figure opposite him.
Why help the Sea God?
Do I have one?
The woman in blue took a step forward, and the waves silently parted at her feet, receding to the sides to reveal a wet, rocky path.
Her steps ashore were light, like a feather landing on the water, but the entire coastline trembled the moment she touched the ground, and a deep, lingering roar came from the seabed.
You don't have it?
She tilted her head, her eyes the color of the sea, a deep blue tinged with a dark, surging gray. "Yun Jingheng, you possess the aura of the Sea God."
How come I didn't know?
"Heh~ The aura of blessing is so obvious, and you, as a half-step God-King... can't you sense it?"
Yun Jingheng did not answer immediately.
He glanced down at the sea; moonlight shone on the crests of the waves, shattering into countless silvery scales—beautiful, serene, and harmless.
But he could hear it, he could hear a heartbeat beating three thousand meters below where the moonlight couldn't reach. The heartbeat was very slow, so slow that a normal person couldn't even detect it, but each beat was like a deep bell being struck, the shockwaves coming up from the seabed, passing through the continental shelf, through the ocean currents, through the reefs, and finally turning into the very subtle tremors of the ground beneath his feet.
She stood before him, her blue dress fluttering in the sea breeze. She looked to be no more than twenty years old, with delicate yet aloof features. Her long hair cascaded down like a waterfall, each strand dripping water. The water droplets fell to the ground and condensed into perfectly round blue crystals, gleaming Youyou in the moonlight.
But she is the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King.
"So, you're here to drown Shrek?"
"Twenty thousand years ago, my husband died, at His hands!"
My condolences.
When Yun Jingheng uttered those two words, his voice was flat, without any perfunctory tone or excessive sympathy; it was simply a literal expression of condolence, straightforward and decisive.
The woman in blue looked at him, and for a fleeting moment, a subtle ripple flickered in her sea-blue eyes, like a deep-sea undercurrent, invisible on the surface but churning for hundreds of miles beneath.
"You're not afraid of me, are you?"
"I'm scared."
"Then why do you still dare to stand here?"
Because you're more afraid than I am.
The woman in blue remained silent for a moment.
"Twenty thousand years," she said, turning her head to look at the sea. Moonlight fell on her profile, outlining a cold and delicate contour. "You are the first person to dare to say the word 'fear' in front of me."
"Just telling the truth."
"Truth?"
She gave a soft humph. "You humans are best at hiding the truth behind lies, telling only half the story and leaving the other half untold."
"So what? You want to use my Godhood to ascend to godhood?"
"I want revenge!"
These four words, carried by the sea breeze, are heavier than the waves.
Yun Jingheng didn't reply. He remained suspended in place, his pupils slightly contracted, reflecting the cold and exquisite face of the woman in blue.
"Whom do you intend to take revenge on?" he asked.
"Sea God."
"The Divine Realm no longer exists."
"His legacy continues."
The woman in blue took a step forward, stepping onto the reef. The water droplets under her feet left a ring of blue fluorescence on the stone surface, like shattered scales.
"His Godhood remains, His blessings remain; by crushing them one by one, I am killing Him again."
"So you're going to take action against Shrek City? And with innocent people?" Yun Jingheng looked up at the hundred-meter-high waves.
The woman in blue looked at him, her gaze turning cold.
"Your husband died 20,000 years ago, and the Sea God has been gone for countless years. Now you're shouting for revenge at a bunch of remaining forces. Do you hate the Sea God, or do you hate yourself for not being able to stop Him back then?"
The sea suddenly became calm.
The woman in blue had her hair hanging down, covering half of her face, and the only eye that was visible was a deep, almost black blue.
You think I wouldn't dare kill you?
"You can't kill me," Yun Jingheng said.
The moment he finished speaking, a silver-blue light shone behind him.
The light exploded from the center of his spine, silently and without form.
A white shadow detached from his body and landed lightly on the rocks beside him, its toes barely touching the ground without making a sound.
A woman.
Her long, silvery-white hair reached her waist, gleaming with a frosty coldness in the moonlight.
Her face was aloof and delicate, with an innate detachment in her eyes, like ice flowers that bloom on a window on a winter morning, so beautiful that one dared not touch them.
She wore a plain white long dress, the hem of which moved without wind. It was embroidered with dark silver fox patterns, and nine tails spread out from behind her. Each tail was several meters long, pure white, and the tips were adorned with a faint frost blue.
She was barefoot, with a string of tiny silver bells tied around her ankle, but they didn't ring.
She stood on the reef, and the air within three feet of her body condensed into tiny ice crystals, suspended in the air, neither falling nor dispersing.
The woman in blue looked at her, her pupils contracting slightly.
"Frostmoon Fox? God-level..."
The woman in the white dress did not answer. She raised her hand, her fingers long and slender, her nails tinged with a light frost, and gently pushed forward.
There was no sound.
The giant waves, hundreds of meters high, began to freeze from their crests. Ice crystals spread down the water curtain, turning water into ice, waves into walls, and the surging waves into solidification.
In the blink of an eye, the entire wave wall froze into an ice wall, and moonlight penetrated the ice layer, refracting countless cold white rays of light that illuminated the entire coastline.
The ice wall still retains the shape of surging waves, each ripple frozen in time, its curves graceful, like a sculpture frozen in time.
You can even see frozen water droplets suspended in mid-air on the crests of the waves.
The woman in the white dress withdrew her hand, and her nine tails swayed gently behind her, the frosty blue tips shimmering in the moonlight.
The woman in blue remained silent for a moment.
She looked at the woman in the white dress, a new meaning appearing in her eyes. "Indeed, how could a half-step God King not have any powerful experts by his side?"
The woman in the white dress did not answer. She turned her head and glanced to her side. Yun Jingheng had already turned around, his back to the sea and the ice wall, facing the direction of Shrek City.
A man brushed past him.
The woman in blue narrowed her eyes. "Yun Ming."
"Deep Sea Demon Whale," Yun Ming turned his head to look at the woman in blue, "Twenty thousand years have passed, and you still haven't figured it out?"
The woman in blue looked at Yun Ming.
Her gaze swept back and forth between Yun Ming and Yun Jingheng, her eyebrows slightly raised—a look of identifying prey—but soon, her expression changed.
"A half-step God-King, a half-step God, interesting."
Yun Ming ignored the Deep Sea Demon Whale's scrutiny. "Leave now. No one will be hurt."
"Otherwise, you will die."
The Deep Sea Demon Whale sneered, "You're that confident? We're both at the peak of the Quasi-God, what makes you so special?"
Yun Ming raised his head, "I."
"Never loses."
