Background / History

Xu Xin grew up alongside Xu Qing after her elders arranged playmates for her when she was six. As the only one who remained at her side, Xu Qing became the younger brother she never had; she has doted on and protected him ever since 1.

She was instrumental in discovering Xu Qing's martial-artist potential. After witnessing his archery, she brought him to the Underground Alliance for testing, provided his first combat equipment, recognized the signs of his Spirit Controller awakening, and urged him to conceal his real strength for safety 2 3 5 6 7 9.

Following their college entrance examinations, Xu Xin and Xu Qing entered Jiangnan University together, both studying Business Administration. The Xu Family formally accepted Xu Qing as a direct descendant, allowing him to address the family head as “Grandfather” alongside Xu Xin 7 8.

Xu Xin is mature, responsible, and fiercely protective of Xu Qing. She manages his education, prepares his belongings, selects his initial martial-artist equipment, and repeatedly instructs him to avoid revealing his strength recklessly 5 9 23.

Her protectiveness can become controlling: she refuses to let Xu Qing date while he is still in school and initially resists letting him hunt monsters or pursue martial arts far from her side 1 7 8. However, she eventually recognizes that he needs room to grow and begins supporting his choices more openly 13 34.
