The full moon hung high in the sky, but its cold light could not penetrate the dense fog below. Atop the tall tower, Uchiha Shin stood like an eternal god, watching the changes unfold across the land.

His gaze pierced through the thick mist and across the strait, toward the Land of Fire on the continent. There, the war still continued. Night had merely concealed the slaughter of the day; once dawn arrived, even fiercer battles would ignite.

"That kind of look is rare for you. Is something major about to happen?" A calm yet slightly cold voice suddenly rang out. A woman in a loose white robe walked over and stood beside him.

Hazy moonlight spilled down as her long hair fluttered slightly out of place in the night wind. Holding a steaming cup of tea, she resembled an immortal beneath the moon—cold, graceful, and beautiful.

Shin withdrew his gaze and glanced at her, smiling. "Nothing that major. But this Ninja World War should be ending soon."

"Oh?" Hyuga Tamamo raised a delicate brow, though there was no surprise in her voice. Or rather, she simply did not care much about this Ninja World War.

"Over all these years, ever since Konoha was founded, I have seen plenty of stories from the Ninja World. Back then, I thought that once Senju Hashirama established Konoha, war would come to an end. But in the decades since, there have been four Ninja World Wars alone. Between nations, between villages, even during so-called peaceful times, there have always been all kinds of underhanded conflicts. I saw through all that long ago. Whether this Ninja World War ends or not does not interest me. After all, ninjas have always been a group that never learns their lesson."
