Uchiha Itachi's Sharingan shifted slightly. He was the commander of this operation, and tonight, he was also responsible for monitoring Root's movements.
"Where is Danzo? We can't let him escape," Uchiha Itachi loudly asked a clansman beside him.
"I think Sasuke stopped him over there." The ninja he questioned was an Uchiha Jonin, his Three Tomoe Sharingan activated as well.
"Sasuke?" Itachi murmured. He quickly looked in that direction and saw Sasuke attacking Danzo together with two Uchiha Elite Jonin, which eased his mind.
As the battle continued, more and more ninja joined the fight, all of them reinforcements for the Uchiha.
Other than the few Root ninja who had initially broken through and headed for Minato Namikaze's home, everyone else, Danzo included, had been kept here.
With the Anbu and the ninja from the various clans who had been prepared in advance joining the battle, Root quickly fell into a complete disadvantage. Its annihilation was only a matter of time.
Minato and the others had considered the possibility of Root rebelling, though they had thought it highly unlikely.
Everyone knew Root's strength. It might not have been weak, but compared to all of Konoha, it was insignificant. As long as Danzo remained sane, he should never have chosen such an extreme path.
