Setting out from Machia, the small town where they had met Ada, they found a large city called Aegir not far to the west. North of Aegir lay a tiny village—or rather than a village, it was more accurate to call it Ada's grandfather Rose's factory.
The entire town was Rose's factory, and its residents could basically be considered Rose's employees. Rose's factory specialized in producing dolls, and because of their excellent quality, it was famous far and wide.
McBain and Rose had known each other for a long time. Through Rose, McBain had even received many puppet toys, which he placed in Forte's room. Of course, those toy puppets were merely mediocre, immobile dolls made at Rose's factory. Since they were toys made from leftover materials, they were simply given to McBain's grandson instead of being sold.
Because of this, Forte was quite familiar with Rose. Though they had never met, he still held him in great respect. "Grandpa Rose, my house is full of dolls you made!"
Rose smiled at Forte. "McBain told me long ago that he wanted those dolls for his grandson. I'm glad you like them, though they weren't my finest work."
