On Pablongdao Alai Light Demon Star, a group of bizarre-looking demons were causing a ruckus in City Hall.

Pablongdao Alai Light Demon Star possessed formidable technology, but no matter how advanced it was, it could not withstand the exhaustion of its resources. Not only was the planet nearly out of natural gas, but even the light and water energy used as alternatives to natural gas had gradually run dry.
Because Pablongdao White Dwarf had diminished, it emitted less than a tenth of its former light. The entire Pablongdao Alai Light Demon Star had become bitterly cold, and the efficiency of its light-energy utilization had plummeted. Nearly all its water had frozen into ice—how could solid water generate electricity?
With water and light energy no longer viable, the only energy sources sustaining the planet were traditional coal and natural gas. But its coal had been completely mined out years ago, and now its natural gas was close to depletion as well. The weather was frigid, many forests had frozen to death, and even burning firewood for warmth had become a luxury.

It was not that they were unwilling to use nuclear energy. But nuclear power had been used on this planet for thousands of years, and half the planet had already been polluted by abandoned, unprocessable heaps of nuclear waste. Other than building new coffins around those nuclear waste piles every hundred years, there was no way to prevent nuclear leakage. They knew that unless they had no other choice, they could never use nuclear energy again. Otherwise, the entire planet would sooner or later meet its end.
