Uchiha Madara suddenly opened his eyes. After what seemed like an eternity, it felt as though he had slept for a very long time. In the endless darkness, he had found an exit, and then, all at once, he opened his eyes.
An endless blue sky filled his vision. Rising to his feet, he saw towering trees all around him, but these were trees he had never seen before—not ones that existed where he had come from.
Uchiha Madara frowned slightly. His strength had already become far too great, so he had no concerns about arriving in an unfamiliar place. He simply rose unhurriedly, saw a broad road ahead, and headed down it.
He was in no hurry to travel. He merely enjoyed the long passage of time, though his pace was still extremely fast. Before long, a small city appeared at the end of the road. Its imposing walls stood around it, with two rows of guards holding spears.
The three dazzling characters "Northland City" were written above the walls. At the city gate, crowds streamed in and out. Uchiha Madara's consciousness instantly swept across the city, scanning every person within it. He found no one who posed even the slightest threat to him. If he wished, he could reduce the entire city to nothing in an instant.
After entering the city, he found Northland City fairly prosperous, though it still looked like a small place. Just as he walked forward, a sudden scream interrupted his boredom, and he lazily raised his head to look ahead.
