"Boss! Boss! Is anyone here? You've got customers!" Xiao Sang called out loudly as she entered, but no one answered.
"Find yourself a seat. I'll go check whether the boss is in the back," Xiao Sang said to Uchiha Madara before heading toward the rear of the tavern.
Uchiha Madara looked around. The place was utterly dilapidated. The only difference between here and outside was that, at the very least, this building had a roof.
He picked a seat at random. It was covered in a thick layer of dust, clearly unused for a long time. And apparently, the owner did not bother cleaning either.
Before long, an old man slowly staggered down from upstairs. He was very short, and his long beard dragged along the floor.
"Who was yelling just now? Isn't the boss here already? You were so loud you disturbed this old man's sleep," the old man said as he slowly walked over.
"Are you the owner of this place?" Uchiha Madara looked at the bearded old man. "This place is rather filthy. Don't you clean?"
"You're human, aren't you?" The old man leaned closer. "No humans have come here in a long time. What are humans doing in a place like this?"
"What else would I be doing?" Uchiha Madara replied with a smile. "Don't people come here to eat? Why else would I come?"
"Fine, fine. What do you want to eat?" The old man dragged his long beard away and went behind the counter of the little restaurant, where his body disappeared from view.
"If you have time to drag that beard across the floor, why not drag it over the tables?" Uchiha Madara said with a smile.
