Though he had not seen clearly what it was, the thing was incredibly fast.
Just as it reached Uchiha Madara, Belaque reached out and caught it.
Uchiha Madara was a little surprised. It seemed this thief was skilled at more than stealing—his speed was so great that he could keep up with that red dot.
"A magic arrow?" Belaque said as he looked at the red arrow in his hand.
Uchiha Madara looked at the red arrow. The red energy along its shaft seemed to burn like flames.
Belaque hurriedly threw the arrow away. Uchiha Madara noticed that a mark had already been burned into Belaque's hand by the red arrow.
Then several more red dots shot toward them.
"Run, hurry!" Belaque said to Uchiha Madara. "Have the Drake fly back and leave this area."
Before Belaque had even finished speaking, several red magic arrows had arrived, plunging straight into the Drake's hide.
Though the Drake was not a true dragon, it still possessed some of the thick hide and tough flesh characteristic of dragonkind. These magic arrows caused no substantial damage, only piercing its skin.
But the Drake itself seemed to sense the danger as well, and it instantly turned around and flew away.
Then countless white magic arrows came flying toward them.
"These are lightning-element magic arrows. They have an extremely long range and tremendous piercing power. The Drake's defenses can't withstand them," Belaque said to Uchiha Madara. "Think of something, quickly."
Uchiha Madara patted the Drake's back. The Drake, which had been flying backward, abruptly changed its course and dove headfirst. Several white magic arrows grazed its tail.
Just as Belaque was celebrating their escape from those white magic arrows, a huge white dot suddenly flew toward them like a bolt of lightning.
"They even brought out
