Uchiha Madara and Belaque jumped down from midair, landing without making a sound.
Uchiha Madara understood his own strength, but as for Belaque's abilities, Uchiha Madara now felt that this really was a thief.
After Uchiha Madara and Belaque came down, they looked at the large tree beside Mirror Lake. Deep marks resembling animal claw scratches had been left on its trunk.
"Were these marks here when we came before?" Uchiha Madara asked Belaque.
"That's impossible. We couldn't have missed something this obvious until now. And those marks look very fresh—they definitely weren't made long ago," Belaque said.
Uchiha Madara smiled. "And it seems there aren't any other creatures around here."
"Other than that demonized little boy," Uchiha Madara added.
"We were gone for less than an hour, weren't we? And something like this happened," Belaque said in disbelief. "If he was going to be demonized, why didn't it happen while the two of us were here?"
"I'm wondering the same thing. Aren't demonized creatures supposed to be mindless? They shouldn't be capable of waiting until we left before making their move," Uchiha Madara said.
"And judging by his eyes, that little boy didn't seem like an evil person either," Belaque said.
"Go back home and take a look first. If you find the little boy's father, come get me," Uchiha Madara said to Belaque. "I'll drain the water here. Anything contaminated will eventually need to be purified."
"Then I'll go now. Be careful," Belaque said.
"Don't worry. If even Kaguolet could kill a demonized human by himself, would I lose to some young man?" Uchiha Madara said with a smile.
After hearing Uchiha Madara's words, Belaque hurried toward the little house. The Blue-Feathered Griffin continued circling overhead.
The Blue-Feathered Griffin seemed to sense that something was wrong as well.
