"You can rest assured about that." Gu Kelanlie said to Uchiha Madara, "My life is in the hands of the three of you now. If it were one for three, I might consider it, but one for one? I'm not willing."
Uchiha Madara did not think there was any problem with that. After all, Gu Kelanlie was currently at a disadvantage, and if anything unusual happened, Belaque and Carter Binda were no pushovers either.
Uchiha Madara stepped into the black magic circle. He suddenly felt the Magic Stone's glow seem to brighten, and a sensation of restraint began to spread across his body. At that moment, even speaking became difficult for him.
Uchiha Madara knew that Gu Kelanlie had tricked him. He had been careless to trust someone whose mind had already been lost to the Magic Stone.
Uchiha Madara tried to break free, but his numb body would not obey him. He felt his skin growing rough and thick, as if he too were about to become part of the great tree formed from those tree people.
But soon afterward, Uchiha Madara began to feel pain all over his body. The pain cleared his mind considerably. He moved and found that he could barely move again. Without further thought, he gritted his teeth, reached out, and took the Magic Stone from the tree.
Gu Kelanlie watched Uchiha Madara walk out of the black magic circle. The vines beneath his body thrashed wildly, as though he were stamping his feet in rage.
"You really never learn your lesson." Uchiha Madara said to Gu Kelanlie as he unfurled a scroll and prepared to seal the Magic Stone inside.
"That's impossible. How did you get out?" Gu Kelanlie asked as he stared at Uchiha Madara.
"Because your dark magic is too weak."
