"Stop, you two!" a guard called out to Uchiha Madara.
Alustriel was walking behind Uchiha Madara. Having listened to him and decided to stride forward boldly without hesitation, she had stayed behind him the entire time, feeling more at ease than usual.
But she had not expected Uchiha Madara, the one who had told her to walk boldly, to suddenly stop.
Alustriel did not notice and crashed right into Uchiha Madara.
"What are you doing?" Alustriel said to Uchiha Madara. "Why did you stop in the middle of walking? Wasn't it you who said we should just keep moving forward without hesitation? So why did you stop?"
"If I hadn't stopped, the two of us would have been shot clean through by now," Uchiha Madara said to Alustriel helplessly.
"Didn't you see the arrow at my feet?" Uchiha Madara said, turning his head.
By then, the two guards had hurried over as well. Looking at Uchiha Madara and Alustriel, they said, "We told you two to stop. Didn't you hear us?"
"I'm terribly sorry," Uchiha Madara said to the guards with a smile. "I thought that since the two of you hadn't stopped us, you were allowing us to enter the city."
"I don't even know why I should let you in," one guard said, equally bewildered. "While I was still thinking it over, the two of you just swaggered right in."
Since Uchiha Madara and Alustriel had already entered Sun City, quite a few curious onlookers had gathered around them.
It had been a long time since any travelers had passed through Sun City, and its rules forbade outsiders from entering. Now that two outsiders had appeared, the city's residents gathered around in curiosity.
"Who exactly are you two?" the guard asked Uchiha Madara and Alustriel.
"It isn't convenient
