Uchiha Madara had no choice. Since he was now on someone else's turf, it was best to follow their orders.
Moreover, Uchiha Madara was puzzled. Why had the lord of this city sought him out? Had someone caught wind of him?
Uchiha Madara thought it over and decided that probably was not the case.
The city lord must have had some other reason for wanting to see him.
So Uchiha Madara followed the two men toward the distant palace. After walking for a while, he entered the palace, where someone was already waiting for him.
"Please, have a seat." The city lord smiled at Uchiha Madara. "Mage from afar, you must have had a hard journey to our country."
"It was no hardship. I merely walked a little farther," Uchiha Madara said.
"This is my first time visiting your country. May I ask why you wanted to see me?" Uchiha Madara asked, looking at the city lord.
"May I ask where such a high-level mage has come from?" the city lord asked.
"I came from Red Rock City," Uchiha Madara said after some thought.
Since this man wanted to get to the bottom of his background, Uchiha Madara decided he might as well name somewhere farther away.
That way, they would know nothing about it, and even if he made things up, there should be no holes in his story.
"Red Rock City?" The city lord said in surprise. "That place is very far from our country. May I ask what brings you here?"
Uchiha Madara felt somewhat frustrated. If not for his identity as a mage, the city lord probably would not have summoned him here.
Though being a mage had brought him many conveniences, it also brought some unnecessary trouble.
"I'm merely passing through. There is nothing else,"
