"I didn't have any particular demands at the time. As long as you could find me a place to stay, that was enough." Uchiha Madara smiled at the inn's attendant. "But I don't know what the others think. Would they agree?"
"They will. Definitely," the attendant said with great certainty.
Uchiha Madara had no idea where he got that confidence.
"So how is the room fee calculated? Half for each person?" Uchiha Madara asked after thinking it over.
The attendant smiled at Uchiha Madara's words. "Rooms are extremely scarce right now. In the bigger places, the prices have already been driven up to astronomical levels."
"So our little tavern still provides very good service. Even though others have raised their prices to the skies, we still only charge each person for one room," the attendant said.
"You really are profiteering off a national crisis," Uchiha Madara said with a smile.
"One person pays for a whole room, but only gets half a room. Isn't that a little unreasonable?" Uchiha Madara said.
"It was originally the cost of one room. Shouldn't two people sharing it split the cost? Half each would be the most reasonable arrangement, wouldn't it?" Uchiha Madara said.
"I'm very sorry about that. I can understand your point of view." The attendant's smiling expression instantly turned cold after hearing Uchiha Madara's words.
"We have no choice either. We're trying our best to free up rooms for all of you to stay in," the attendant said.
"But if you really aren't willing, you can go elsewhere. You can see for yourself just how scarce rooms are right now," the attendant told Uchiha Madara.
Uchiha Madara listened to the attendant and shook his head helplessly. It seemed they truly did not lack customers—they were already trying to drive him away.
