"It looked like I'd arrived at just the right time," Uchiha Madara said.
Uchiha Madara now quite enjoyed encountering such strange and unusual events. The existence of anything this bizarre suggested that the Magic Stone might be behind it all.
"Not bad." Uchiha Madara smiled and asked the guard, "When did this start happening? How long has it been going on?"
"About a month," the guard said.
"I don't know exactly what happened. I heard that our princess was suddenly possessed by an evil ghost and locked herself in a room, refusing to come out," the guard said.
"So, any exorcist who can drive that evil ghost out of our country will be handsomely rewarded by our city," the guard told Uchiha Madara.
"Handsomely rewarded?" Uchiha Madara said with a smile. "Just how handsome?"
"The princess is the city lord's most beloved daughter. I believe whatever he offers will certainly be worth a fortune," the guard said.
"Have many people come here?" Uchiha Madara thought for a moment. "With such a tempting reward, surely there'd be brave men willing to take the risk."
"That may be true—great rewards attract brave men—but they don't have the ability," the guard said.
The guard sighed. "Over the past month, many people have indeed come after hearing of this."
"But none of them had any real skill. I think they came here to swindle people and try their luck," the guard said.
"And what happened to them?" Uchiha Madara asked after thinking it over.
"Of course, none of them ever returned. Many people have gone in, but not a single one has ever walked back out of that room," the guard said.
After hearing the guard's words, Uchiha Madara nodded.
"So dangerous?" Uchiha Madara asked again. "Was this really caused by an evil ghost?
